Number201383365548

It’s so huge it does not fit my screen

Here ya go! ;)

i would so love to have this….just too rich for my wallet right now.

Wowzer, now that's a reflector!

Seems like a great deal. Best wishes on the sale.

Been a while, but I’m surprised that even you got the boots…

Good luck on your sale.

I wonder how useful is that small reflector in the center of the big reflector, haven’t seen those since the Brinkmann Home / Auto rechargable

Got me thinking, I wonder if the reflector concept would work for one of the bigger die leds like the XHP-70 / SST-90 / MTG-2

Thanks! Also, what you mean by got the boots? Was I banned by CPF due to inactivity? Not sure what’s happening over there.

Hi ma_sha. I saw your ebay listing for your reflector. I am very tempted to by it but Ill admit that Im not very well versed in the field of reflectors. I have noticed that a lot of the short arc reflectors are shallow and very wide (16" or more). Your reflector on the other hand is much deeper but not quite as wide as some other short arc reflectors. Im sure its probably a complicated science behind why you chose to use a deep reflector in your light but can you tell me what the advantage of using a deep reflector vs a wide reflector is?

If I bought it I would probably play around with some automotive HID bulbs in it first and gradually move up to a real short arc light when I get the money and learn more about short arc light sources. Would a reflector like yours work good for regular HID bulbs that are not short arc?

Hi, sorry I have’t been back since I listed it on eBay.

Yes, it’ll work for HID and handle the heat well.
If you search CPF my build thread of The Swan blaster, I had a Shallow reflector before and that did 16 million cp. With this reflector, it did 42 million. The quality of the reflector is the most important. Cheap Shallow reflector may not be precise parabola, the expensive ones used for short arc, it still misses lots of light, not being reflected. For mag mods, the deep rebel reflector is much better than the shallow normal mag reflector.

For large short arcs, my guess is that shallow ones were chosen because the cost, it’s more precision surface for deep reflector, cost a lot more to make at larger scale.

Yeah I was figuring there was a cost factor limiting how deep a reflector that large could be. Thansk for answering that for me. I'll probably place a bid on it as the auction draws nearer to ending.

The short arc window is also for sale. It has a custom 9 3/4 polycarbonate uv block window AR coated. Custom cut center with tri mount of a 3” AR coated High Temp. UV block glass window to withstand heat from short arc. the small window comes of from short arc UHP lamp, no where to purchase it.
$60, the best short arc window money can buy.

I have an extra Polycarbonate 9 3/4 window withought Glass center but also AR costed, $30. Not able to withstand short arc but OK for HID use.

$9 shopping for 1 or both, free shipping with the purchase of the reflector.

What kind of condition are they both in? Do either the $60 window and the reflector have visible scratches on them and if so are they major?

Assuming they are both in mint or near mint condition I'll take both the reflector and the $60 window right now if you sell them for $260 shipped. Deal?

Otherwise I'll have to pass...

Sure, why not. You have a deal. I’ll send you a PM with pp info.
They are near mint, no scratches on the $60 window or the reflector except the rim area some minor scratches as the host is a tight fit. You will not find a better reflector or window anywhere, I had to had them custom made, there was no other way to chive the ultimate throw, I was trying to dethrown RA to be #1.

Replied to your PM

Recieved everything! Man this reflector is gorgeous! Very satisfied!
