The recent XPL HI emitter is drawing lots of attention, especially after pflexpro’s nice reports on output and tint comparison of XPL HI and dedomed XPL. Thanks man!
I myself am extremely interested in getting one, either stock brand lights or modded ones. But I have no skills to mod one for myself.
Powered by the top binned CREE XP-L HI Cool White LED. You get 600/720/1100 LED lumen when using 1*CR123A/1*RCR123A/2*CR123A (with included extension tube). Get maximum continuous runtime with the lowest output of 4lm using two CR123A with extension tube. A single CR123A/RCR123A battery offers 100/50 hours of maximum runtime.
Turbo Reflector Design:
With the new top binned XP-L HI LED, the 3.4 inches long TX25C is able to throw 194 yards with the default single CR123A cell setting. Snap the two cell body on and boost the beam distance to 261 yard. EagleTac uses special and custom made machinery tooling to make the deepest reflector possible. Deeper reflector means more reflective surface for converting more spill output into the spot beam.
I’ve been considering some better throwing lights lately and looking for ones with XPL HI.
Eagletac has really been putting out some interesting flashlights lately, and I’ve been considering 3 of the ones referenced here.
The TX25C is really looking nice. 358 yards throw with XP-L HI V3. I don’t have any single 16340/CR123a lights so this could be my first. Absolutely love the magnetic tail. I use that feature constantly with my lights that have it. I like the option to run 2 cells but don’t like the look of the ribbed ext. tube EDIT: Checking the specs more it appears the highest output can only come from 6 volts. Too bad. Maybe 2x 16340 LiFePO4? Nope, looks like those are 3.2v
I’ve also been looking a the GX30A3D for a while, very interesting design and features, best of both worlds with 492 yards throw plus the diffuser LED array for flood (180 degrees spill angle).
Also sounds like a great UI. Only con it doesn’t run on Li-ions, I don’t want to use alkaleaks, I wonder if eneloops would decrease the output specs because their lesser voltage of 1.2v?
I also like the DX30LC2 (284 yards throw) I’m probably getting one soon. Quite an upgrade from the D25LC2.
