This is the future of LED lighting!
I just saw this monstrosity in the DX new arrivals section: http://www.dx.com/p/e27-g80-3w-47-led-decorative-bulb-warm-white-3000k-130lm-ac-220-240v-401177
I guess they couldn’t think of anything better to do with their old leftover Christmas Tree light bulbs.
Material: “Iron + Glass”
I feel for the worker who has to hand-solder these all day long…

Wow! I quite like it actually...
Wonder if they cared rectifying the voltage, and if so I wonder if they took care of ripple at all (imagine 50Hz PWM  )

Think about the guy/girl that has to bend all the LEDs to the outside while the whole entanglement is inside the bulb…
I got my first 8W LED Filament light from BangGood - except for a very high humming that light rocks my world.
Brilliant little device, I hope for a 12 or 16W Version - I like it bright (I have a 50W 5630 CornCob in my Bathroom)

I’ve got a 30W CW 5630 Corn-Light in the laundry-corner in my garage:
…hooked up with one of these screw-in PIR motion sensors:

…and it’s a great combo. Love the bright CW light in this application. I’d guess it to be about equal to a 150W incan light. I’d like the bump up to a 50W bulb; I’d order three, one for each fixture in my garage…

You’re backwards… COB is the future and this is the past.
Here’s a video I saw a while ago about a related bulb.
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
So this is not new for me.

my guess is they spin these and let centrifugal force do the work.
