Brinyte new arrival zoom-able flashlight: B158

This time, let me introduce our newest zoom-able led flashlight to you -- B158. I can sure you never see such zoom adjusting design.

Nice looking light. What size lens is in it? What is the estimated price? Just a suggestion that I wish more companies would incorporate into twist zooming flashlights, it appears that it takes too many turns to go from zoom to focused. It would be much better if it only took something like 2 complete turns to zoom it all the way in or out.

Even better would be push-pull or more preferrably 1/4 turn IMO.

Push/pull doesn’t work on firearms due to the recoil, which is why I prefer twist. I just want the bare minimum to twist it. I think 1/4 turn is unrealistic but 1-2 turns is achievable.

The len diameter 61mm, resin material. Aha it rotate 2.5 complete turns to zoom in fact. But more turn to changed the drop in module.

Selling price: $35 for one flashlight + the head mount.

Interesting, current zoomies with that diameter use a glass lens, usually plastic lenses are optically better so this one should work well!

What do you mean by optically better? It seems counter intuitive to me that a plastic lens would be a better material to make a lens from. Aren’t plastic lenses inefficient at allowing light to pass through? I must be missing something….

In theory you may be right (although I found some pretty good and nicely coated plastic lenses in videocamera's that I disassembled recently), but it's a thing found in practice: the glass lenses found in typical zooming flashlights are of poor/varying quality, while plastic lenses are way more consistent and optically pretty good.

That does make some sense. I’ve seen some pretty downright terrible plastic lenses on some really cheaply made flashlights. I have no doubts that a plastic lens could be very good. However, these are still flashlights that are built down to a price. I’m still very curious about this light though.

Brinyte lights are typically good quality so I’d expect nothing less from this light

Glass lens is the best choices, but the price is also very expensive and the head will be too heavy....

So after many compare test, our lens choose a resin material. This lens have higher light transmittance than plastic, and scratch resistant.ヾ(o◕∀◕)ノヾ

(;′⌒`) I'm trying to photograh the light, but always failed. To me, mobile camera is easier than video recorders....

Looks pretty interesting. But we definitely need to see the internals and more have more info, like drive current etc.
More than a few BLF’ers would like to know if it’s mod-friendly too

ヾ(o◕∀◕)ノヾ The current is 3-4.2V, and I will sent details in this post next week.

Definitely. We need to know the driver’s diameter, driver’ height… etc.

Does this light only accept 1x18650? Will it come with extension tube?

Or even better, send a sample to some respected BLF member for a full review => that would answer all possible questions (and boost your sales if the light lives up to our expectations).

Yep, we flashlight nuts thrive on the details and little nuances.

please send me the light for test and review
