Just ordered this off Amazon. I usually carry a Fenix E05 and an Acebeam L10 on my EDC keychain (along with a SAK and peanut lighter). The Acebeam stopped working and I haven’t figured out why yet. This leaves me with the Fenix which I like quite a bit, but I go by the philosophy of 2 is 1 and 1 is none so I wanted to get a second light. I chose the TiS. At one time I had a Ti3 and liked it quite a bit and this TiS seemed to be the same thing in a silver color. I chose the TiS so that it would differ in color from the Fenix and be easier to differentiate in dim light conditions.
I’ll be using an Eneloop in it and won’t make the mistake of putting a 10440 in it.
Anyone else use this light? If so, what’s your experience with it?
I also picked one up from Amazon a few months back. I haven’t used it much (it went into a little case with my other SS lights), but my impressions were very good. Certainly a better tint than the titanium version that was so green that I sent it back (a first for me). I have the neutral XP-G2, and like it.
One thing I wasn’t too keen on was that it starts on moonlight. I’m actually a Thrunite moonlight/firefly fan, but on a twisty with three modes (excluding the hidden strobe), it’s hard work getting to high. Maybe that’s simply because I’ve just played with it, and not really used it in the dark too often.
High is certainly brighter than most of my AAA lights (and I have over a dozen), and the TiS is well made.
I prefer the original Ti UI - slight twist for low, carry on twisting for high. Simpler than twisting back and forward a few times. In fact the light on my keys now - the MecArmy IllumineX - works exactly like that. The Ti version is holding up well alongside my keys after a few weeks.
