Got my BLF-348

I got my BLF-348 light, and what a pleasant surprise this thing is. I haven’t been around the forum very long, but
am very glad I was able to get one of these to review. The machining is very nice and this is one of the nicest clickies I’ve
seen in a sub $10 light. I typically like the single cr123 flashlights for edc, but this little guy is warming me up to the world of the 1-AAA flashlights. So i wanted to share my video review, and thank you guys for coming up with such a nice light!

Here is a look at a special flashlight often referred to the BLF 348. It is a modified singfire SF 348 with an upgraded Nichia emitter and LED that runs off a single AAA or 10440 battery. This cheap little light is very high quality for the money and is easily one of the best single mode penlights I have used for under $10. Great light for EDC or pocket carry

Hey and welcome to the forum. Great review.

Actually, this reminded me to pick up another BLF 348. One wasn't enough. Need backup..LOL

Have Fun and Thanks.

Nice, 7 posts and a review…. Big things coming from you Bc412, you will like it here! Welcome…

Hey Bc412. Nice review. You need to grab a 10440 and throw in there. It then becomes the best sub $10 flashlight
I’ve got one in front of me now, one is in my wife’s purse, and two more are over at a laser engraving shop. They’ll be stocking stuffers for my kids…using AAAs of course.

have you tried using 10440?
i read somwehere its not advisable since it will heat up very fast.

Got my 2 pieces yesterday, while 2 still on the way… Amazing little light. I am also surprised at how small the light is. Perfect beam color and color rendition.

Yep, I’m using and Efest IMR 350. It will warm up, but only if you leave it on for an extended period of time. I have no issues with it since I don’t run it very long. Just to light my way here and there or look for a remote under the couch. I doubt I’ll ever use a AAA with mine. Now, everyone else in the family gets AAAs

How does this one compare to the Hugsby XP-1 in terms of brightness and beam pattern using Nimh?

Great review, thanks!
I’m still waiting mine to arrive

thank you for this.
ill use my 10440s then.

Love these little lights!
I bought a total of 13 of the CW from the original GB.
They are slim enough to go virtually unnoticed in slacks pockets.
I have one that I put the foam “barrel grip” from mechanical pencil which
aids the grip.
The light is devoid of knurling—so it is slippery, but for me
it works well inside a closed “fist” grip—but if you have big hands , it
might be tough to hold.

These are great little lights. I got two for Christmas my son and I had then in our stockings for the big morning. Great little lights. Its a lot easier to carry then my d25c ti. Looks like a 10440 order will be placed soon.

I know you were asking about the XP-1 and Nimh, but just reminder - the XP-1 will only safely take Nimh (and a 10440 will kill it fast - several of us tried). Oddly, the XP-2s (2 x AAA) can take 1 x 10440 with a dummy AAA, and the head from the XP-2 can be used with the XP-1.

EDIT:

Hugsby XP-1 on left, BLF AAA on right - about 1 meter, both using Duraloop (though I’m not sure if the one in the BLF AAA were fully-charged
