GoingGear.com – Shot Show 2016 – Marshall's Outstanding Videos

Marshall Hoots has done a fantastic job at Shot Show 2016. Below are the flashlight videos from Armytek, Foursevens, Olight, and SureFire. Check out the Going Gear YouTube channel for other knife and gear videos.

Thanks, Marshall!

Yeah Marshall does a great job and he’s easy to work with, too - a good guy. I haven’t watched all these videos yet but I’m really excited for all the bluetooth stuff 47s is working on. It may turn out to be a complicated mess but I want it to be my complicated mess.

Come on 47s, get that Android app ready!

In the Foursevens video, David Chow shows off some of the bluetooth products he has under development. Very interesting stuff.

There are several things that make Marshall's videos a bit better than the competition. First and foremost, he is a good interviewer. Second, he has better sound than other videographers. He holds a quality mic up close. That really helps reduce the background noise. Third, he uses a dedicated cameraman. This allows him to get into the frame, and interact with his subjects.

I see more and more Bluetooth lights are in the making. What do you guys see the importance of the point in this? Other than leaving the light tail standing, and able to turn on at a distance. Mostly wouldn’t you have your light in your hand?

I’m digging the new olight lights

Being able to turn the light on and off at a distance is cool and all but that’s really just showing off. For me bluetooth is all about programmability. Programming a light through a series of button clicks and light flashes is a workable method, we’ve been doing it for years, but programming through a bluetooth app just sounds like it could be so much easier and more capable.
