Enegizer double barrel 6v 4xaaa

Hi this is my first post, I am looking for someone who would convert my enegizer double barrel 4xaaa 6v to led for me in the UK can anyone help? My dad bought this light for me so it means a lot to me.

There is no good way to mod such a light with reasonable effort and money to a competitive led light.
So if you need a led light with 500-1000lumen just invest 30$ in new equipment.

If you really want to use your old light than the best option is a led replacement bulb(around 100lumen possible), which is easy swappable by yourself cheap(10-15:money_mouth_face: and there is no chance of destroying something which is important to you.
I am unsure which bulb is used and if there are existing replacements or if you need to DIY a bit. So if you give some pics and dimensions of the bulb, reflector and flashlighthead we could probably sort a bit.

Would only be looking for 100+ lumens, I can’t find a replacement led or bulb for it and I don’t have the original bulb. How do I upload pics?

I think this site is in UK thetorchsite

Here is a link to the flashight on flashlight reviews http://flashlightreviews.com/reviews/ener_dbarrel.htm

I think your bulb is a bi pin. I do not know any upgrade led with that connection :frowning:
bulb

Thanks had a look but none of there LEDs are bi-pin fit

From the site you linked it says it uses a bi-pin xenon bulb. Since your light is 3 volt that would make it a T1 size.

Years ago this light was modded to give 6 volts,

Might be able to use an old school led, the ones with 2 long leads on the bottom and a resistor

Iv’e not found anything yet. But I did find this mod LEDs - Gallium Indium Nitride UV, violet, purple, blue, aqua, turquoise, green, white. Also Gallium Arsenide and others. New LED MUSEUM! GaN, InGaN, SiC, GaAs, GaP, GaAlP, ZnSe, flashlight, flashlights.
Any experts out there that could do something like this?

Mini maglite led upgrade from the torchsite is bi pin. Will convert back to 3v and try to fit\modify to fit one of these. Will report back soon.

You risk destroying the light by playing around with it, i would keep it for sentimental value and buy a different light designed for more lumens and proper heat shedding (last thing you want is for the head to melt, that light does not look future proof)

There are bipin upgradeleds on ebay:

Not sure if they will fit but the risk to damage is very low so I would try it.

I have that light in both AAA and AA sizes. The head is all plastic.
I’ve never found any practical way to modify it. It’s a museum piece at this point.
People fiddled inside to change it from 3V to 6V, but what’s the point?
I’ve been looking at them since getting my first M@g AA dropins.

What is with the bipin led I linked above? Does it fit inside?

I have ordered one of the maglite ones like on your second link. Will let you know if it fits when I get it and post pics.

The mini mag upgrade from the torch site fits and works. The pins are a little close together so had to bend them out about 1mm or so and they only just reach the socket. Will solder on some copper wire to extend the pins and mount the emmiter on a large washer to help with heat dissipation. But it looks like it will work well. Here is how it looks for now.

I am glad that this easy solution worked.
