Desk Light for Modding: Smart Touch LED Table Lamp

I just wanted to show the lamp I got from Gearbest for my modding desk. This isn’t really a review, just some pics mostly to give you an idea. This was a private purchase. I have no sponsorship or relationship with Gearbest.
I noticed it on one of those sale emails you get from GB and BG etc. that advertise cell phones, quad copters and such.

I’ve been looking for light for my modding bench, and this one looked like it had possibilities, on top of being budget friendly. I took a chance and ordered it.

Smart touch LED table lamp.

The lamp itself is a super thin and lightweight design with 28 LEDs. The lamp part flips up and down 180°. There is no switch. The lamp is touch sensitive with three modes. It is nice and bright with even lighting because of the long rectangular lamp head, so no directional shadows on your work. The semi opaque cover diffuses the light nicely without glaring off shiny components and solder.

Plugs into USB port.

Well, what do you know. It must have some kind of built in battery source, because it works whether it’s plugged in or not.

Here it is on the ceramic tile I use as a work surface on my bench. These tiles can be purchased at homedepot for about $2, and are great for soldering on, and easy to clean.
The base of the lamp does take up some of my usable work area.

In order to reclaim all the area of my ceramic tile, I flipped it over and stuck on some non slip nylon feet.

Perfect! The thin base of the Smart Touch Lamp now slides under the tile leaving all the space available.

Well, that’s it. Just wanted to say I like this budget friendly light, and is exactly what I’ve been looking for on my modding bench.

Nice and floodie
Design influenced by Apple.

Nice pickup Of. No shadows from fingers either as the light is coming from the rear.

Nice find! I will also give it a try

Thanks!

Ps. And about working with unplugged cable:

But does it have a strobe mode? jk

Thanks for the write up!
