Ultrafire c8 XMl - T6 - Types of Batteries employed ???

Question: My Ultrafire C8 Cree XML T6 instructions state use one 18650 battery - Can I safely use 2 CR123 batteries which will fit into the battery tube even though the instructions doesn't say I can ???

The maximum Voltage may only be 4.2v and 2 VCr123 will be 6v.

It will go Poof.

There's an old thread around here somewhere of me powering up a MF/UF XM-L equipped L2 with 2 x CR123. It dimmed after a few minutes and after becoming very dim, I terminated the "test." It works great now with no issues but feeding a 4.2 volt max drop-in 6+ volts is asking for a drop-dead drop-in.

Thanks for replying to both folks above.... Sounds like I better stick to the 18650's....
