UltraFire A9-T60 CREE XM-L-T6 for bicycle commute

Hey everyone, new member here. I am doing research on flashlights to rig up a lighting system for my bicycle. I have been scoping out these flashlights:

My objective is to set them up like this:

Do you think either of these lights will work work fine? Any feedback which may be better? Other suggestions even?

Both are very good. When you get it put some thermal grease where the pill meets the body. If you want cheaper Ultra Fire C8 T6 5W

If you want a 1 light set up this my be a good option.TRUSTFIRE TR-3T6 CREE XM-L.

I would do one light but I like symmetrical and may try one as a helmet light if two on the bars is too much. I guess cheaper is good but since I haven't a clue what the differences are among them all it wouldn't make a difference to me.

I came across this: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/939 and the reviews seem good. The price isn't too bad either: http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=11097

Does the community have a preferred battery and charger?

Maybe XTAR 18700 and WP2 II

Welcome to BLF

That is the exact same setup I run on my Downhill bike on my street bike I run a single C8. I have both my bikes and my brother has his setup with KDC8s and this mount.

I have bought at least 6 of these mounts all good.

Review of the KDC8

You really only need one KDC8 on low or medium setting unless you are going mach 9 than 2 lights on medium or one on high is more than enough light and don't forget a bright taillight so you don't get clipped from the back. I always carry a spare battery in my pocket and a backup light just in case, but I was a Boyscout.

Batteries and charger.

This is a pretty popular charger on here I have bought 4. I still have one I use and all the others I tested and sold all work good still.

I have over 20 of these batteries they work great in the KDC8.

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/trustfire-protected-18650-3-7v-true-2400mah-rechargeable-lithium-batteries-2-pack-20392

The Trustfire 3 XML is a great light, but I never use anything but low and sometimes medium when riding with it it is a little bit of overkill.

For the mounts, I purchased these: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/universal-bicycle-mount-22mm-32-8mm-15342 The ones you referenced looks nicer with the longer shaft for the flashlight to sit in. Maybe I'll keep those in mind when replacing the others is due.

Have you mounted a KDC8 to your helmet at all? If so, how?

No the KDC8 is a little big to mount to a helmet I use a Shiningbeam S-Mini, but the Uniquefire 2100 is also small enough.

Siningbeam also sells the same mount I have it's a little more money, but you can get it in less than a week.

Any chance you have a picture of your set up and its performance at night?

I can take a picture for you when I go out later it is literally identical same exact mounts. Is there a particular light you want to see mounted?

The KDC8. I feel convinced those will suit my needs.

May I ask whose setup that is in the OP? Seems like that setup is almost as good is the C8 setup.

A guy from the bikeforums. Here is the link to the thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php/770952-MagicShine-MJ-816-1400-Bike-Light-w-MJ-828-battery-reliable (about half way down)

Does anyone have beam shots of the KD C8 in action during the night?
