Pacifier clasp?

Just wondering if anybody has tried one out as a flashlight clip. The ulticlip used on gun holsters got me thinking and the unused pacifier/lanyard/clasp ordeal in our baby shower overflow drawer has me thinking the can be had for cheap. What do you guys think?

I’m having a hard time picturing how this would would be mounted on a flashlight… Do you mean attach this to a lanyard, so you could clip the lanyard to your clothes? What benefit would that give?
Would you be able to upload a sketch or something of what you have in mind?

I’m all for creativity – I repurposed a few of these as pacifier clips when my kiddos were that age, so using an actual paci clip for something else sounds great! Smile

Well I’ve thought about it and I’m not sure what would be the best way. I just wanted to share because I really like the thought of a clasp instead of clip. I would like this to directly replace a pocket clip if that answers your question.

OK, I think I see now… Something like that would be a lot more secure than a regular clip, certainly for anyone who has problems with clips getting snagged/pulled out of pockets!

Yeah at work I’m always really paranoid about my light coming out of my pocket as it has many times. I love using a penlight out of a shirt pocket but never do anymore cause they end up on the ground.

Good thinking outside the box, but yeah… not quite sure how it’d work.

New concept to me, I’ve recent heard guys taking about using a suspension clip with their lights. Not quite the clasp idea, but it might be worth checking out.

One consideration: anything with teeth would eventually tend to chew up your clothes…

It seems to me that looking for a tighter clip or a lighter weight light would be better ways to keep things attached to your pocket.
I currently carry a ThorFire PF04 (in my pants pocket) and the clip is so tight that you can suspend the light upside down from a single layer of fabric without it slipping.

Right. I have a few lights with sturdy tight clips and I wouldn’t change a thing in jean pockets their not going anywhere. But at work crap happens and lights take a tumble. I’d like one or two small lights with a clip like this for. 1. Wearing athletic pants or shorts with pockets 2. Work. 3. Anytime I know I’m going to be around water. I do agree though I wouldn’t want a clip like this as my edc because of teeth tearing up clothing.

I originally mentioned it in the Mi7 thread. I’m a big fan of suspension clips.

@gchart,

Many Thanks for the link, just bought a few, and resurrected my DX account as well!

Cheers,

Ouchyfoot to a New Member: Welcome CJ. Now you have to learn about buying an inexpensive flashlight and modifying it until it either blows up, or starts small fires on the moon…………

Suspension clips are comfortable and more secure than pocket clips .
