LED centering rings - what do you use, or keep on hand?

Since I’ve started swapping emitters and such, I seem to have a need for something I don’t have yet in my parts bin - a good assortment of centering rings.

It seems like each light I fiddle with needs a different size/style and I’ve never got one.

There’s just so many variations when you consider styles (square/round, round/round, butterfly…), reflector hole size, and LED size… Some are low profile and some are really thick. LED size adapters that are adapters but not actually centering rings…

When I shop for them I get paralyzed by the dozens of options and the only solution seems to be to order some of each if I ever want to get the right one in a light.

Should I just suck it up and spend $30 ordering a 10-pack of lots of different kinds? Or are there one or two kinds that you find yourself using 90% of the time?

Convoy have a decent selection and free shipping, that’s where I got most of my stash. All manner of other spare parts, too.

Unfortunately, the shop’s offline for the Chinese New Year (back again around mid-February), so I can only give you sample links from my browser history. They should show up as available again once the holidays are over:

XP Butterfly Gasket
XM Butterfly Gasket
XP -> 7mm Gasket
XP -> 9mm Gasket

Should get you started on the most common ones for a lot less than $30.

Thank you, that helps a lot :slight_smile: I hate needing something and not having it.
