Will Convoy S2+ or S3 XM Fit Fenix or Nitecore batteries?

Hey guys,

title pretty much says it.

I am looking for a budget flashlight and I really like these two . I am just not sure if either of those will fit Fenix or Nitecore 2300Mah (only two I can find in India from a reliable source).

IF not then can you please suggest a 18650 flashlight close to 900 lumens for under $20 that will?

The S2 and S2+ I owned fit 18.6mm Panasonics with PCB well
The tube is 19mm, but not smooth so useable is more like 18.8mm

The Convoy C8 has a larger tube and handles he heat a lot better

Cant you find Keeppower 3500mAh from Aliexpress, BG, GB, Fasttech, Kaidomain or going Gear?

If you got a light and battery doesnt fit you can use NaOH to remove inner anodisation and use sanspaper to get the tubes diameter trimmed

I don’t have any 2300 mAh cells, but I do have six Fenix ARB-L2P protected 3200 mAh 18650 cells, and they fit my three Convoy S2+ Red lights. Some combinations of light and cell are a little tight, so I have to rotate the cell until it drops smoothly into the tube without being forced.

Unfortunately, there’s always a little manufacturing variance in both lights and cells. I think the inside of the S2+ tube is very slightly oval in cross-section, and this type of protected cell is wider where the connection strip runs down the side, so the fit is best when the cell and tube are aligned.

@Lexel: you have to use the NaOH? You can’t just start off with the sandpaper?

Thanks Lexel.

That helped a lot. Fenix is larger than Nitecore but should fit S2+ if 18.6 Pana does :slight_smile:

Almost no one ships batteries to India , and another BFl member suggest kaidomain too. I forgot about it untille now, they apparently do ship them and I found this http://www.kaidomain.com/p/S024109.NCR18650B-3_7V-3400mAh-Rechargeable-Li-ion-18650-Battery-with-PCB . Does this look fine to you guys?

I have been a bit apprehensive about buying Panasonic ones as I can only find them here on amazon and ebay but that one on KaiDomain looks decently priced (fenix and nitecore here are for $11 and $13). I suppose I will get that one and couple of S2+ for now _

@Phlogiston

As long as it’d fit, I am okay with that just don’t want to buy flashlights and batteries that I can’t put to use. Thanks!
