Welcome to BLF !

the keep your budget light forum…

For charger and batteries check HKJs review site
http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Common18650comparator.php

A good start are Samsung 18650-30Q or Sanjo 18650GA for power hungry lights

well I have a fair bit of that but it is still expensive help haha

haha that’s a good one it must be stealth the keep your budget because I don’t see it happening .

for a charger I was thinking of a RC SkyRC MC3000 Charger

the one I have now is an old nitecore .5A 2 bay one and for cells because I live in aus

the best option for local ones I think are the keeppower but I suppose I can still get some

from over seas if I wait for them to come surface mail takes about a month to six weeks .

cheers D

i mean you’ll have a light budget for ‘normal’ things when you have this hobby…

I’m a long-time “reloader”. I re-load rifle and pistol and shotgun shells… I mainly do it because there’s no other WAY to get precision accurate ammunition to shoot tiny groups at long range. ALL benchrest shooters? are by default high end reloaders.

it was explained to me like this…

“you have a certain amount of money you are going to spend on guns, and on ammunition shooting them. On getting them worked on. You will STILL spend that much money? But, you will shoot MORE. Your ammunition will BE more accurate. You will be fixing more and more of your own projects you used to give money away to strangers to fix for you.”

I dont SAVE anything doing it all, for all these years? I just GET tons more for what i do spend.

I have noticed this hobby is much the same… i COULD spend tons of money on retail prices, many times paying 65 dollars for a 10 or 20 dollar light if i knew to buy it myself from china. If i learn what quality and features really are? It will cost me even MORE at retail.

I end up now spending the same amount of money? But, i am getting more for it. I am also slowly acquiring a lot of tools and machinery so i can do even more for less.

I’m not going to “save” anyti\hing, really… but i will have LOTS more lights to show for the same money, and i will have better lights, doing what I wan them to do, not what someone else thinks i should have.

yep I hear ya I shoot small things out to 1600 yards too but I am a lot more consistent at 1100 and under

well, why lie… i’m not THAT kind of shooter, lol

100 to 200/300 is my usual thing.

I have been to a real 1000 yard range, its on the competition curcuit… but i dont compete.

I got to shoot a 7mm “allen magnum”, full blown custom rig. A real SWAT sniper was my “spotter” for all the many wind flags, or i couldnt have done it. I have the bench technique and trigger control? But, i dont read wind yet.

i got picked out of a line of shooters for my bench technique. I had to pass the rig owner and spotter “tests”. IE, i had to touch the verylight trigger without touching it off. Easier said than done with a trigger measured in ounces instead of pounds, lol.

then i had to demonstrate that i could “send it” on command, and within under 1 second of the issued command.

after 3 “send it” commands with proper response? we went to live fire (7mm allen magnum? is a 338 Lapua, blown out and de-tapered and basically “A.I.’d” containing over 100 grains of very slow powder)

really high winds, and multiple switch winds… the pro competitor was my spotter, and going on his wind reading… i was rewarded with a 3 shot group that came in at just under 1/2MOA @ 1000yds in really hgh and bad winds that switched back and forth and every which way.

I always WONDERED what i could “do” with a high end rig, i got to find out… it wa a RUSH to find out i could do it, and that my bench technique was up to the task, as well as being able to work with a pro spotter.

i lack only experience to read wind now.

=

one of the most rewarding days of my life, i tell you.

this a 3 shot group at 1026 yards with my 7mm rem mag watch centre target . better on full screen

You got some good ones.

Eagle Eye X2R is a nice USB rechargeable to consider. May fill a hole you have for the 18650 tube light. It is good quality like the Convoy S2/S2+ yet rechargeable for about the same price.

nice shooting…
