Haikelite Trekker MT01 preflash

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I received my MT01 from Banggood after about a Month, and I’m glad its in some kind of mint condition.
But as the title says every time I switch the light on on “low” there is a small but distinct preflash. Here’s a question to anyone who owns this light:
Have you perceived something similar? It only happens on low, on all other modes there’s no flashing.
Wondering if this is by design, or if its a faulty driver as I couldn’t find anything about it.

Hi Tyzmon.
I have both the CW (from Haikelite) and the NW (from BG) and I have checked them both, but cant find any preflash in the low mode (or any of the other modes for that matter).
But what I have experienced on a few occasions is that I have not been able to turn off the light (this goes for both). But what I have found out was, let go the switch, press the switch again and cycle through the modes one more time. Then I were able to turn the light off. !!??

Thank you hunter1 for checking both your lights  Sounds like I’ll have to write Banggood and wait what they’ll comment in that.
The issue you describe isn’t present on mine, or, at least I haven’t noticed ist yet. Although I did notice that the light is somewhat picky as it needs a really short click to accept it as “on” or “off”.

Hey.
I also noticed that ‘preflash’ in my MT01 on low mode. It’s not big deal for me. I have similar issue in some Skilhunts H03 that I have.
I think bigger problem (for me) is strongly noticeable tint shift.

Do you have the neutral or the cold white version of the light? Tint around the hotspot on my neutral white version is a bit greenish on lower levels, but outside it isn’t noticeable.

On my Skilhunt H03 there’s in one mode (don’t remember which, must be one of the lower modes) also that small pre flash, so I suppose that is as the driver is designed. Solved it by switching to the submode, which doesn’t have that flashing.

I have neutral white one.
Center of the hotspot is yellowish neutral white, around that is greenish yellow, and the spill is cool white with a little bit blueish tint.
Im going to change the LED for 1st generation XHP50.

Maybe it is the same reason that is discussed here that causes the greenish tint of the hotspot, caused by the short reflector.
Let us know how the tint is with an older XHP50 emitter once you’re done
