I made a fidget spinner

My youngest daughter bought a spinner with her pocket money. It caused a bit of a rift between her and one of her sisters so I made one to try and avoid arguments. It’s not pretty and it’s slightly out of balance but it works.

From custom torches to finger spinners. Whats next?

:+1: :+1: :+1:

Nice!!! I’ve been browsing spinners the last couple of days…looking for a decent one with trit slots that won’t break the bank.

I’ve printed a lot of spinner

To me it’s the dumbest fad since the pet rock.

If a member here decides to sell them, I’m in for one

Yeah, they are dumb, but whatevs…

Oh, and pinkpanda, that doesn’t look outta balance to me. Nice work. You should see the wobble on some of the ones my son has bought.

So…
BLF copper edition group buy?

Titanium maybe?

With tritium slot

Lol, I consider it a kids toy so if they get into spinners or pet rocks then have at it. It’s not a digital device…

Maybe the last fad of loom bands was more to your liking :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice

One can see PWM with spinners , that is actually pretty neat, the worse the PWM is, the better the patterns seem

Pulled this from another forum I frequent:
Best Fidget Spinner Trick Ever

Phil

I think it’s funny how this toy has created such a great divide   :sunglasses:

That’s looks really good, was your daughter happy with it?
From my experience the kiddies aren’t interested in the metal ones they want the typical plastic tri ones like their friends have.

Custom spinners (not the plastic tri ones) have been around in the edc community for a couple years now.
Recently they’ve gotten popular by the kiddies but that fad will die down of course then it will be a thing only in the edc community again.

They’re not for everyone but if you like to click your pen or open/close your knife then this fidget is for you.
I can undetstand the annoyance from all the silly youtube vids though.

Or fidget cube…

Sill not my thing though

Lol I’ve even seen a fidget cube spinner on YouTube.

One of the attractions of the hand spinners in the edc community is the custom metals they’re made in.
The high end ones are made of damasteel, mokuti, but my fav is superconductor but way over my price budget.

Btw, they don’t help with focus. If I need to focus I put down the spinner.

Looks pretty good to me. If you want send it over to the USA for Barons approval.

What an adorable dog, love how he goes after it when it drops.
There’s video of cats/dogs spinning them on the floor with their paws too.

I used to play with my knives while talking to people or working… I have to have my hands busy :frowning:
Knives are a bit ominous so I switched to spinners several months ago when I had the opportunity to print one at work.
I then had 3 or 4 different models.
One day I saw a kid with a plastic on playing at thz oo, then a second and a third.
The day after I saw some spinner for sale at my local supermarket… So I remove mine from my EDC :frowning:
I don’t really want people to make fun of me at work because of that, even if I sold several to them for their kiddos

This was predictable: A POV fidget spinner

This is a Hackaday post about a LED fidget spinner. The PCB for this can be bought from OSH Park.

Can you add some led in it?
