Need help finding EDC light

Hello,

I’m looking for a light that meets the following criteria.

1. Must be powered by AAA
2. Must have metal clicky switch (no rubber switch caps)
3. I don’t care about modes, less is better
4. Switch must be On/Off without having to go through modes
5. Priced around $20
6. I can live with an “L” torch
7. magnetic base is a plus

I probably have some pretty weird demands, but I’m sure you guys can help

Hi there flash_lyte!
Welcome!

Except for the modes and the metal click, you can take a look at the Manker E02!
It is powered by an AAA, it has magnetic base, it costs less than $20, and it is a “L” torch!

It has several modes, from Low to Turbo (+ strobe), and the it has rubber button.
If you want take a look in AliExpress !

Maybe other members can help you better!!

Check out the BLF 348, a stainless steel 1*AAA high CRI one-mode beauty. Comes with a pocket clip and a keyring attachment
Got mine through BLf group buys which may still be going on

BLF348-219.

Go for the Nichia 219 emitter. You won’t regret it.

Thanks guys.
Those are some great suggestions. I really like the BLF348, but the version with the Nichia emmitters seems to be sold out at GearBest. Does this happen more often and do they restock these? Or are there other vendors who carry these?

You could try the Lumintop Ant, Massdrop is offering it now,

Lumintop Ant

I don’t have the Ant myself
I have the Tool, I got a brass one with a metal switch, the titanium one $$ has the metal switch as well
the Tool is available from a lot of sellers and coupons might be available.
this one is copper

Also the JetBeam E01R, I have the AA E10R , it does not fully charge the cell, but it is an “ok” light

I believe the BLF (for Budget Light Forum) 348 is produced occasionally and sold thru Gearbest. They have sold out several times, but usually eventually produce another run. The light is based on the Singfire 348, which is the same design but does not have the Nichia emitter. The light from the singfire is definitely more cool white and doesn’t have the high CRI value, but it is in stock at Gearbest for $5.13. If you like the style, you could always order the Singfire and use it until they make another run of the BLF version. Both would still be under your $20 target price.

I’ve ordered the cool white version to check it out :+1:

I bought the BLF 348 with the last groupbuy and to be honest the quality went down. It looks good on the outside but the threading of the tailcap is horrible, it’s held in place with maybe 2threads. I don’t use it so much because I got the lumintop tool that I like better, but I honestly think if I used the BLF as an EDC the threads would already be messed up. Maybe it’s just my sample but I think I remember more people having this problem.
Now the Lumintop copper tool I have is a great light. Has 3 modes and comes on in middle mode -> low~~high>low. I love it this way more than lowmid~~>high as the mid is the mode I use the most.
There’s also to alu Tool which is much cheaper but i don’t know the UI for that one.

lumintop tool for the clicky.
