Holy Off-Center Emitters Batman! Imalent DT35 Content Inside.

  • Apologies for the Double Post…Can’t find the Delete function for this thread.

Just received my Imalent DT35 with a recent coupon code and figured it would be worth it at the reduced price, even though a TLF member measured the light at 3500 lumens under the advertised spec of 8500 lumens. That’s a 41% reduction in what is advertised. Yikes!

I’m going to assume the throw won’t be close to matching their advertised 1000m as well.

But, the kicker is just about every single emitter in the light is off-center. Does anyone else have this issue with Imalent lights. I took a flyer on it and now regret even giving it a chance when I could have paid a touch more during Thrunite’s recent sale for the tried and true TN42. Ugh.

Anyhow here is an image…thoughts?

That does look really bad… almost like its a quad-cross-eyed flashlight.

edit: - I wonder if that is a single large star with 4 emitters, or four single stars? (single individual stars would be easier to re-center.

the emitters are all radial shifted

so if you rotate the reflectore a tiny bit anti clockwise they are perfectly centered

must have happened as there are no proper gaskets when screwing the bezel

whenever i see off centered emitter i remember this

Yeah, I once had a girlfriend who had affectionate eyes

They were always looking at each other!

My Nitecore TM16GT also has somewhat uncentered emitters although not as badly, but I can’t notice it in the beam.

You must be careful if you wish to readjust the alignment. Reflector can chip off the edges of the emitters as they are not protected by centering rings. I advise to leave it as it is.

on my Imalent DN70 the emitter is perfectly centered. The reflector opening is as big as the emitter die itself so it could be self centering.

I’ve seen worse… much worse… with single emitter lights.
