Reylight Ti Lan V2, Special Edition, smooth barrel, on Sale now

I recently had Rey from Reylight make some custom Ti Lan’s. Being a small light 3 3/4 inchs long (9.5cm), I thought a smooth clean barrel would look really good, and they do. No knurling, machining or etching to interrupt the already great lines of the light.

Nichia 219C 4000k high CRI emitter

Approx 400 Lumen using 14500, and 200 lumen using AA primaries. The advertised lumen is 380 with a14500 and 180 with AA, but comparing Version 1 Ti Lan with Version 2, the V2 looks brighter to me. Not that we should be able to tell 380 vs 400, but see what you think in the photo comparison below.

I have two versions of the Ti Lan V2 available. Polished and Bead Blasted.

Price for either model is $59.00 + $2.00 First Class shipping (US) PayPal

Can now be purchased on Amazon

Tritium tubes 1.5mm x 6mm can be ordered for $6.00 each. I can install them for you for free if you wish.
(Currently have Ice Blue, Green and Orange in stock)

Thanks for checking this out

You can see some of the differences here between V1 and V2. The switch is more of a module that screws into the tube. Better contact with the battery tube.

Optional Tritium Vials. (I enhanced the glow using a UV light so they would show up better in a lit room, to get a better idea of what they look like in the dark)

Nice smooth beam from the Nichia 219C 4000k high CRI emitter and OP reflector

And here’s the comparison of the Ti Lan V1 on the left, and the Ti Lan V2 on the right. Both on highest mode. Looks to me the V2 is brighter.

And a back yard shot

I can ship internationally, but will have to calculate the cheapest shipping method.

It’s the standard switch modes just like the Pineapple, and Ti Lan V1. Firefly, Low, Med, High

Yes it does, but not the tail switch. The V2 tail switch is a completely different setup than before.

Do you have any side-by-side pictures of the V1 and shiny V2? (Or, I guess, V1 next to both V2s?) I’m curious about the difference in finish you mentioned.

The difference between the shiny versions are very slight and hard to tell in the pict. The V2 has slightly more of a machined feel in the hand. You can tell a little difference near the base in the picture.

The V2 has a slightly longer battery tube also. A protected 14500 should be no problem like some reported with the V1.
I removed the clips on my copies

Got mine in the mail today and it’s fantastic. It’s also VERY matte. Sort of seems like a 3D model that somebody forgot to skin. Looks better in real life than in pictures, imo.

Family photo, Reylight AAs:

Family photo, matte titanium lights:

Family photo, last couple of lights I got:

The bead-blasted Reylight, in addition to being longer than the D4, is noticeably grippier. Also noticeably dimmer Silly

Thanks RobertB!

Those smooth ones would look so nice heat treated, have not done it to any of mine yet. Afraid I will screw it up.

I’d like to find some titanium tubing to practice on. It can’t be that difficult. Different temps will yield different colors. A bunch of youtube videos on it.

You can’t really screw it up too bad. Its just a surface oxidation, which can be sanded back off if it looks bad. Not that it would be easy of course, I’m just saying that the work can be salvaged if you don’t like how it turns out.

I’m sure it depends on the makeup of the alloy for the color you get. Found this:

Pale Gold Straw-385 ºC = 725 ºF
Purple-412 ºC = 773.6 ºF
Deep Blue-440 ºC = 824 ºF
Red Purple-565 ºC = 1049 ºF
Brown Gray-648 ºC = 1198.4 ºF
Green Blue-925 ºC = 1697 ºF

These look great! Got mine in and I would swear they are a tiny bit brighter than the V1 and my other V2. I also think the 219 is a bit warmer in these, love the tint.

Fantastic light! Have had it a few days now and I love the design, fit and finish. Great emitter and tint. Love the trits. Best with 14500 LiIon. Great deal IMHO. Thanks to Re and RobertB for making this work-of-art available. Cheers!

Don’t understand why these are not getting more traction. Titanium., Beautiful Nichia high CRI emitter, Excellent fit and finish. Simple operation. Trtit slots if you want to fill them. All this for $59? Just glad I got mine and love it!!!!

Thanks Nite. I am getting quite a few PM’s, but you’re right, the beam on these is about as good as you can get, and makes for an excellent nightstand or camp light with the trits.

Just ordered one — looking forward to trying out V2 of the ReyLight Ti Lan!

EDIT – got it (thanks for the quick shipping Robert) and I love this thing.
The beam is brighter, the tint a little warmer, and it tailstands perfectly.
The machining makes it easy to grip despite the smooth look of the tube. I got the smoother more polished one.
