newb here hello blfq8

Welcome to BLF leftfordead, quite an uplifting username you have
I’m sure you will enjoy the Q8, I hope you have arranged some high-drain 18650 button-top batteries for it?

Those batteries are great for the Q8, but get yourself a better charger than you linked, that is safer and better for the batteries. A very cheap basic charger that is working well: Liitokala Lii-402 Micro USB DC 5V 4Slots 18650/26650/16340/14500 Batterie Ladegerät Sale - Banggood Deutschland-arrival notice-arrival notice

Welcome to BLF.

If you are concerned with plugging in, get Lii-500.
(Loop scotch tapes around the batteries for easy taking off.)

Just plug the charger into wall power outlet.
Batteries in the charger are packed very tight that removing them after charging is difficult.

Welcome to BLF leftfordead! Glad you found us and it looks like you’re already getting some good advice.

Brilliant! I always use a butterknife or whatever is lying around to pry mine out of my Xtar.

Leftfordead, also pop them out + side first and then gently pull them forward releasing the tension in the spring before you pull the - side out. I know I’m not the only one who’s quickly popped the - side out only the watch the tension bracket scrape off the wrapper on my battery. If that doesn’t make sense now, it will once you get your charger.

The Q8 has a voltage indication function, and it has low voltage protection so you won’t over-discharge the cells.

From the cheat sheet:

That’s it. There is no need to set up anything.
And insert the batteries the right way.

Joe

That’s right. You’ll need a USB adapter capable of putting out at least 2A for maximum charging speed.

You also have a voltage checker, so you can see how much juice is left in the batteries
Press the switch fast 3 times and it will blink voltage.
three blinks, pause eight blinks = 3,8 V. four, pause, one - 4,1V etc …
