Planing on building a Convoy c8 triple. I have all the parts, but need help on where to solder wires,thank you.
Are you going to drill a hole in the middle for your leads? I usually use (P+) at 6 o’clock and (P-) top right.

Do you have a DMM? I do not recommend powering board without checking it for short-circuits after drilling.
I don’t even have one yet. But I guese I’ll be purchasing one soon. Before I start to drill the mcpcb board?
Usually after.
For central hole in xp32, there is low probability to short-curcuit anything. But just get this rule - always check boards before powering them.
Why would drilling a hole in the middle cause a short? I’m guessing due to the copper shavings touching led board

You could break into your live trace that you’ll be powering your triple with. Just stay in the center of the middle emitter and use just a big enough drill to pass 2 20awg leads and you will be ok!
Usually it wouldnt, xp32 board habe independed traces for central led.
But you need to check it anyway. Shorts may be caused by bad soldering, or wrong led positioning, or damages by vises etc.
Also you can see if there is any dirt on the leds and remove it before it burns inside silicon dome.
This check is simple, can be made with any dmm with diode check mode.
Those are brass soldered jumpers, look at the pic you posted, you can just solder jump those two spots if you wish. I had jumpers so I used them.

When I purchased the board, I saw there was an option to buy the brass jumpers. But it was out of stock. So no brass. I don’t even have the slightest idea what it’s but wanted to add it at the time.
You can just use small cuts of solid wire core.
Or you can just solder jump them too…
can anyone point me in the direction of parts needed for this build? I’ve got a spare C8 I want to do something special with :sunglasses:
