Small 1x18650 home use light?

Let’s say you want to go with a single 18650 light for general home use.

I already have an H03 (floody) headlamp, so no need for that.

What lights are everyone’s favorites that:

1. Have a reasonably useful balance of throwy/floody (maybe something with a moderate hotspot would be a good balance?)
2. Is under $30 or so
3. Is quite compact

I’m not set on an emitter, but was thinking either nichia for the tint, or xpl hi or XHP30/50/70 for the throw. I have a budget AA sofirn SF14 already with the xp-g2 so looking for something a bit different.

Maybe a Convoy S2+ XPL-HI? More compact (but slightly over your budget) would be an Emisar D4 (Nichia).

For home use I want a super floody light (no well defined hotspot), and several low outputs like 1 and 10 lumen. I’d say H03 is perfect for it. I don’t have this light, instead I like using my Emisar D4 with floody optics. But the D4 is $40 though.
I also enjoy using bigger lights indoor, like my Meteor M43 or Manker MK34, but these lights are of course much more expensive.

Convoy S2

I have, and my whole family has them. They work perfectly for everything within 200ft

Low moonlight, to turbo by double click

I would go with a Convoy S2+, XPL-HI, neutral white (U6-3A) or warm white tints, and eventually a TIR Lens or a OP (orange peel) reflector.
Despite the differences between the smooth reflector and OP are few, namely having a larger hotspot with the OP, that keeps the throw and is a bit floodier.

If you want more flood, go for frosted or pebbled TIR lenses, knowing that it will lose the throw but will give you a nice floody beam.
Or if you wanna keep some throw, chose a 30º or 45º TIR lens!

Simon from Convoy has them as well!

You can use the flashlight with 18650 and shorten it to use 18350 cells with a small tube :+1:

EDIT:
BTW, ARsee, what driver are you using, if I may ask?

BLF A6

Do people not buy them anymore?

I mean after all…this light was DESIGNED by many of the AWESOME modders here at BLF

The BLFA6, I was going to buy. I had a Convoy S2, and did not

You could try the BLF A6 with both the 18650 and 18350 tubes. A bit heavy, but versatile and a proven design. A classic.
