BLF A6/Astrolux S1 - How do you get 1600 lumens?

From product listing, looks like with spring bypass and proper battery, stock config should give 1600 lumens and 1440 lumens without spring bypass.
I got 3D stock flashlight and tried with NCR18650B and it is bright but not sure if it close to the rated performance.
I have ordered LG HG2 to see how turbo mode will perform.

Anyone able to get 1400+ lumens using high drain battery and stock config? And, 1600 with spring bypass?

Thanks

Close. My original A6 does about 1500lm with a 30Q after bypass. Plenty good for a budget friendly pocket rocket.

I measured my A6 at about 1550 lumens with a Samsung 25r and front and back spring bypass. My A6 has heaps of hours on it so a fresh A6 should see better results.

Its Basically direct drive (FET driver). Battery sag makes all the difference. The battery with the least sag will give the most lumens.

You can look at HKJ’s graphs to find the battery with the least amount of sag at 5amps or above. The higher the voltage under load the more lumens.
Sony VTC6 and Samsung 30Q are my favorites and easy to find.

High drain battery and spring bypass do the trick. However i would not bother bypassing the springs since you’ll barely notice the difference in brightness and will increase the heat in turbo - and drain the battery faster. It’s more then plenty bright for it’s size stock IMO.

Also keep in mind that the warmer tone 3D will make a few less lumens than a 1A.

thx for great tips.
I have ordered a Sony VTC6 battery and probably going to leave spring bypass for another day. I am finding that 5 clicks on the 7-setting mode is about the brightness I need most of the times and high drain battery should give me close to 1400 lm when needed.

Trying to remember when was the last time i ordered ONE single battery! - lol
Minimum is a four pack these days…
Did i order 8x35E for the GT? :person_facepalming:

Ha, my journey started with $7 S2+ last month. Then another S2+, a charger and Astrolux S1. Since then I have built a collection of 18650 cells from every laptop battery that I could find. Hence, purchasing one VTC6 to get the most out of existing collection. Not buying anymore flashlights yet as there is still a lot to learn… May be I will buy Convoy C8…
