Banggood not shipping lithium batteries to the UK?

Hi all,

I just noticed that BG are saying that 18650’s can no longer be shipped to my location in the UK. Which is strange as I just got two lots of 30Q from them.

Anybody know what is going on?

Thanks

GB are still ok

I tried ordering 3 times and all 3 times was greyed out not allowing me to buy them for the UK

seems to be working again as I just ordered 4 30Q’s.

Just tried again after 3 weeks of getting no where and this time it has let me buy 4 30Q

quick update
I had 4 samsung 30q ordered and Banggood have just contacted me saying the batteries have been shipped back to them and are unsure why the UK are shipping back to China

so cancelled and will buy elsewhere

Royal Mail might reject loose LiIon cells. ??

The rules are complex:

I’ve been mostly lucky. Only one order went missing.

A few days ago it wouldn’t let me order 30qs.now it does. Shall I go ahead and place the order or will it get rejected at customs. Does it depend on the packaging or courier?

adding to this thread I ordered 1 26650 keeppower battery from Gearbest on the 27 January and it is still in China after nearly 60 days according to the tracker but the stupid thing is on the 28 January I ordered 4 samsung 30’s from the same company and they arrived 11 days later so no idea whats going on with UK deliverys

Can’t speak for nowadays, but late last year I ordered a bunch of 30Qs from BG. They arrived in excellent time (2 weeks), and were delivered individually shrink-wrapped for extra insulation (which initially caught me out), in plastic boxes containing four each, in separate bags with the additional stickers identifying them as LiIon cells to comply with UK/Royal Mail regulations. No problem.

Likewise when I ordered my MF-01 it arrived in 4 days, from the EU warehouse (which is in the UK). Wasn’t expecting that, but very pleased.

Very happy with BG deliveries to UK (I have had many). Can’t say the same for GB.

buy from nkon.nl instead, much quicker delivery within EU and no customs issues.

I tried that but the shipping is quite expensive. 4 cells will cost me £24.36.I can them for £25 in the UK. The flat tops are less than £20 here but I don’t know if the MF01 can take them. Ppl use flat tops by removing the plastic things but I don’t want to do that in case I insert them the wrong way. On banggoods website it says that flattops will work but won’t not have as good performance. I can use magnets on flat tops but I think they might impact performance.

Speaking of Banggood, I just had an email saying that a Xiaomi 10000mAh powerbank I ordered had been returned to them, so it seems that the Li-Ion lottery even affects equipment with the cells built in.

Small-scale equipment with built-in cells isn’t supposed to be affected by these rules, but there’s always the chance that some random courier employee will get it wrong.

Going to have to get a refund now, but I think I’ve located the same powerbank on Amazon, so I’ll try that and live with paying the extra 35%.

pull the white lugs off the battery connector on the MF01 and the flattops work fine in mine

I know but it’ll disable the reverse Polarity protection. If I put one of the cells the wrong way it could short circuit.
