convoy s2+ noise fix?

got my s2+ today. really happy with it but noise is bugging me.
read it was the pwm (its he old 3/5 mode) is there anyway of stopping it? solder on pill looks ok.

i was going to flash biscotti on the driver,using these

Programmer Downloader for 51 / ATMega / ATTiny

i presume thas ok for this driver?
is it something thatcan be messed up easily?

To reflash the chip, you’ll have to remove the driver completely, as the µC is on the flip-side. That means desoldering the pill, as I recall the Convoys are soldered-in vs using a retaining ring (but you’ll have to confirm that).

As long as you’re okay with doing that, you should be fine. (Get ‘avrdude’, too.)
