Hi all,
I use one of those cheapo $1 keychain button lights, but wish I had more light.
However, the photon freedoms at $15 seem way overpriced for what I want.
Any other similar generic aliexpress/gearbest items that are bright?

Nicron on AliExpress has some nice stuff too.
On AliExpress there are also some “copies” of the Tube and other twisty keychain lights;)
The Tube and similar lights are no match for the size of the Photon Freedom, they are way bigger. Apart from the crappy Photon Freedom clones with terrible quality 5mm leds, in the same size I just know the Astrolux TB01 but I think it is not as nice: although it is just as small as the Photon Freedom and it is seriously bright for the size and that I like the form factor, it has no modes and IMO it untwists too easily, something that you do not want on your keychain. I slightly modded one with a loose o-ring inside the battery chamber to make the twisting stiffer and now it is pretty ok.
