ZL keeps shipping a H603d with what looks like to me to be an XHP-50 in it. The kicker is, ZL doesn’t have an H model with a XHP-50. Only XHP-35 and the 50.2. They have a few SC600 models with the XHP-50, but not headlamps.
It’s an XM-L2 Easywhite. The product page has a decent photo of one. It’s a quad-die, 6-volt emitter superficially similar to the XHP50, but it can’t handle as much current.
The XHP50 looks very similar at a glance, but the edges of the package are white, not silver, and it doesn’t have a + mark like the XM-L2 Easywhite does.
I learn something new ever day. From the product page it does look like a Easywhite XM-L2 just like it suppose to be.
I had never seen one of these until today.
Thank you. I guess I’ve never seen one either. I have another one, but it’s behind the frosted glass in the Fd.
I wonder if Cree renamed the MK-R to the XM-L2 easywhite. It does look identical, and doesn’t look like any XM-L2 i’ve ever seen
The first H603d I had, only two of the 4 diodes were lighting up. This one they are pretty even
I have the H600Fd III as well. The Fd is a thrower compared to this… lol… Basically, if you stand in one place and spread your arms out straight on each side of your body, thats the beam profile. Even and smooth. ZL says 120º, but it seems like more. My camera isn’t wide angle enough to capture edge to edge beam. The reflector, or what ever you call it, is glow in the dark material.
Nice color temp and seem to represent color well just like the Fd.
I should have known better than to bet against you Djozz with a emitter question.
Really, I had thought you were joking when you posted that. :person_facepalming:
Just noticed your post count
What you got planed for your 12,000 post count.
That’s quite impressive, just imagine how many keystrokes that took in each post then multiply that times 12,000
