Hey, BLF’ers. I have a couple of quick questions.
Does the sand Convoy C8+ have the new integrated design (no pill)?
Also, does anyone know where I could purchase the old style C8 with pill or one of similar quality (great anodizing)? I want one so that I can swap between several different pills. I like the new Convoy C8 design for its thermal improvements, but I sometimes value the p60 factor of the old school swappable pill C8s.
Thanks
The new (sand) also has a shelf, maybe someone still sells pill style oldskool C8’s

Hmm, you want a C8 with a pill?
You are lucky. Kaidomain sells them with a pill:

You can get them with an XPL HI, to an XHP35HI, all the way to a XHP50.2 LED.

Thanks for the responses.
The XHP50.2 in a C8 pill sounds especially terrifying from thermal perspective.
Not really.
Being a big host with plenty of fins, it can well manage the heat, especially since it under drives the LED a bit at 2000 lumens.

I think my next C8 build will probably be an XPL HI with a BLF A6 driver, based on what I’ve seen lately on the forum. I’ve been out of the flashlight world for a while, so I’m catching back up on the tech and hardware. It’s crazy how high output things have gotten since the XP-E and XR-E days, which is around the time the bug bit me.
Here’s a C8 mod with an XPL-HI LED: Convoy C8 Mod – The WOW Factor
It has a lot of throw for such a small flashlight.
I’d rather use my flashlight around the house than turn on the lights.
