I've been reading here and cpf for a while and decided to join.
I've never thought of me as a flashaholics but as times goes by I'm leaning toward that slope, LOL!
I work with shipyards as coating inspector and thus flashlights are to me absolutely necessary tools.
I started with leds with one of those cheap Police 3W flashlights a few years ago, and by that time it was impressive when compared to the 2-3D Mags everybody else was using. It had a Luxeon K2 and it was my first experience with 18650 batteries.Build quality was not bad at all. Glass lens and fully waterproof.
Let's say I still have that flashlight, it has a good amount of battlescars on the outside but still working good.
Obviously as time went by I discovered other more powerful led flashlights, and had to buy some... and the job is a good excuse to buy even more
At the moment I own that old Police Luxeon K2, plus the following:
Maglite 4D with Terralux Ministar5 led conversion
Palmblaze K2 luxeon
Trustfire TR-801
Ultrafire Uf-007 (recoil)
Ultrafire Uf-009 (recoil + flood)
Ultrafire C8 SS Xm-l
Lumapower D-miniVX Ultra (originally SST-50, converted to XM-L)
Yezl T9 (asph. zoom)
Fenix TK21 U2
Olight SR51
Dry 3xCree Xm-l neutral white, 4mode turbo
The Dry is the last toy I got myself, real fun, playing around with it in dark spaces makes for a lot of WOW factor from bystanders!
Hallo. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. (that's just a joke)
Welcome to BLF, Rockspider. I hope you enjoy your stay. If you stick around long enough, you'll probably become a flashaholic (and maybe a knifeaholic as well). This is a great place to be, so make yourself at home.
Hi Rockspider, welcome to BLF. I'm still fairly new here but I felt at home very quickly. Great bunch of guys. That's a very interesting mix of lights you have. You're gonna fit right in!
Thanks for the warm welcome! Not everywhere the first welcome is a "prepare to die" LOL!!
(Nice movie by the way, lots of good laughs!)
I had a passion for knives too, but that is longer buried. Too dangerous to have many at home with small kids. Not fun having to keep them super hidden. Have just a couple of knives left, and my Leatherman Supertool which is my EDC from day of purchase.
Had also some BB guns and rifles, most sold now. Kept only the 92FS and S&W 40.
Yeah, I know, another guy told me the same a few years ago. It was upsetting me to know that, and luckily (for me) it's a connotation it has only in your area, 'cause I don't really want to change it. When I choose that nick (more than 10 years ago, I use the same on all forums I go) it was related to rockcrawling, RC model rockcrawling to be precise, and the meaning I was looking for was the ability to climb on the vertical face of steep rocks like the spiders do.
