Reminder! There will be no parcels from China from 1 to 7 October.

I just want to remind those who are planning to buy something in China.

From 1 to 7 October parcels from China will not go - in China there will be a week of holidays.

Just take note.
Thank you.

Thanks, didn’t know that and will save money for the weeks after :money_mouth_face:

Maaaate …it’s just not fair
how many holidays do they get!

Well…thanks for the good news Debbie Downer.

I have a package coming from FastTech and they stated 10/4 as the shipping date.

I’ll be out of town until the middle of the month, so I guess it really doesn’t matter all that much?

Chris

Yep, that’s me done until at least the 15th of October, to give the backlog a chance to clear.

Only snag is, I ordered a Convoy T2 a month ago and the tracking seems to show it spending the last two weeks going in circles between outbound customs and airline shipment. Bleh.

What’s the typical tracking info when package departed from China? Hope mine does not have to wait out to Oct 7.

Hmmm, my back-ordered Cometas have an ostensible ship-date of 10-4. Guess not, then.

I may have just escaped:

Delivered to airlines

Might as well sleep a week then. :disappointed:

What I find stupid is a country that now has the commerce that China does still GRINDS to a halt when theres a holiday, Yet “ALMOST” everywhere else they just carry on!!! I wish either the rest of the world took Chinas stance and did the same for Hols. Or China gets with the times and just carry on…. Either way it should be one or the other lol

ROFL - UK —- :person_facepalming:

sorry I should mind my manners.

Not stupid, if you know why. China is a huge country, with much industrial activity concentrated in the area near the Chinese sea. That area can’t supply the workforce needed, so people from all over the country move east. While the rest of the family, (grand)parents and children stay behind. October 1st is China-day, comparable to the 4th of july in the USA. Everything stops, yeah. But the working parents, who live thousands of miles away from their families get in the trains and buses to celebrate this day together with their families. Same happens on Chinese newyear. This is not a two hour commute! So let’s get used to it. Not everybody is on a holiday. Maybe a parcel slips through the cracks and lands on your doorstep. But don’t count on it.

So like I said LETS ALL have the same hols then…… Then we all get the much needed family, friends or Me time we need!!

You never know could make the world a better place!!!

Are you prepared to exchange all afternoons and nights at home, weekends and holidays, to work 2000km away from home and in exchange get a couple of weeks off each year to see your family? Chinese are very hard working people and many of them don’t work under “ideal” conditions. I, for one, am happy for them when they get a vacation, even if my packages delay a few days.

Shouldn’t be a huge deal. Some packages of mine take 2 weeks, some take 2 months. I don’t think an extra week will be noticeable to most.

Am ex forces(23+years service) so hell yeah am up for it!!!

As to the time off for them not an issue it is more the fact the whole country pretty much shuts down for a week and this happens several times a year!!!

It this day an age you’d have thought that there would have been a solution like alot of other countries use……

The back log this creates for not just them takes quite sometime to clear and can often result in things being missed or not getting done properly….

And I I have Already said

“So like I said LETS ALL have the same hols then…… Then we all get the much needed family, friends or Me time we need!!

You never know could make the world a better place!!!”

Someone here mentioned that in his country, there’s a National Quiet Day or whatever. No phone, no lights, no motor car, not a single luxury. Like Robinson Crusoe, it’s primitive as can be.

You turn on a teevee or even a light, and the National Noise Police will drag you out and beat you with sticks.

And if you make any noise while they’re doing it, they’ll beat you some more.

That’s kinda weird, but might be worth a shot.

That is a great idea. It still won’t keep folks from complaining about their flashlight order when 40 or 50 more sit on their shelves unused. They will just complain that they need them 2 day delivery from China for free and make it there on a Sunday during their holiday break.

Personally, I don’t really care when my orders get here. They will get here when they get here. If they never show up I have PayPal and Mastercard on my side. It is what it is and as my science teacher once said, “F*@K the dumb S!*T.

You mean we don’t need 40 or 50 flashlights??? OH CR*P!!!

Just got to give you credit for making me laugh everyday on this forum.
