Fix Walkman?

I have an old Sony Walkman that I mostly use the FM on. It won’t turn on, and the positive connection for the 2 AA batteries seems to have disappeared somehow.

It is buried about the length of an AA, in the battery compartment.

Any way to get to it, and fix it? Or other suggestions?

It’s pretty nice, and I’m not sure what’s out there for fm now. Thanks. Can post a photo, I think.

Can you post some photos?

The positive connection is on the close corner. Kinda hard to get to.

If you don’t see any screws on the back or in the tape compartment and battery area, It will pop apart similar to this one. Then you can fish the wire back out, solder in a new one, or however you need to make it work.

Someone in the comments says:
The proper way to open the body: - release 3 snap hooks/latches marked with arrows inside the cassette compartment. - using credit card or mobile phones opening tool release gently other hooks placed on both shorter edges. - remove the bottom cover.

Sent you a link on PM in case you need it…

Sorry it took so long to get back to this thread, but I wanted to thank everyone

Were you able to fix it?
