Yea its better to compare with d4s and e07.. i think e07 will be brighter than d4s…

E07 xpl hi 6500k will be around 5500 ballpark.. will find out when i get the light..

I got my Emisar D4 (with 10623 optic) in the mail today and I have to say that now I really want a floody optic version of the E07.

Basically, I think the D4 is too small and it could also probably benefit from the larger 21700 battery.

I am anxiously awaiting the d4 and d4S offered with a 21700 battery tube. These lights are perfect for it. Higher amps and higher mAh balance than 18650s with less sag running hard.
C’mon Emissar! Are you listening?

You and I have had our share of problems this year, though yours has been worse and kudos to you for always keeping good spirits! I had the Emisar D4S pulling 26x the mA that it should, only on High AUX. My Fireflies PL47 has a case of the AUX LEDs doing whatever they please, flickering on and off. My Skylumen Tange completely died, now that’s a torch with a 100% failure rate; if it hasn’t yet it will, though I figured out why they’re failing and was able to fix mine and prevent it from happening again. BG sent me a torch with a Euro plug so I couldn’t charge it lol. I bought some new batteries that came corroded. It’s been a fun 2018 Beer

Any comparison videos with the D4S?

I haven’t found any even though I think it would make for a better comparison. The guy who did the first one uploaded a second one and said that he will release a review in german in the german TLF soon.
He uploaded this second D4/E07 comparison in the meantime:

One thing I’m interested to find out is how the runtime graph for the D4S compares with the E07. I would presume when set to a similar thermal threshold, the E07 being hotter (more LEDs) will stepdown faster — but when it steps down, around how many lumens will that level be? (I remember reading about the Fireflies ROT66 can have around 600-700 lumens for a relatively long time). How about the D4S and the E07?

d_t_a, you should look for regulated lights for run time, like the UT02 or Lumintop ODL20 (essentially same light).

Our FET driven lights are about max output and as such, they are brightest at full charge and dim as the cell dies, not conducive to lengthy run times at any particular output level. When Comfychair started cramming the big 07N02 onto Q-Lite drivers it was all about more power, our FET drivers decended from those early experiments, with MattAus and Alex largely being the developers switching us over from the 7135 regulation chip. I built my share of the early experiments and truly don’t miss stacking chips for more power.

These Fireflies lights use the latest iterations of that early work, at the heart of these drivers it’s still all about maximum output although the plus one style brings some efficiency into the picture… sustained max output can be adjusted by once again stacking chips to raise the ceiling on the plus one channel… provided of course that access can be gained to the driver.

Question Can anyone comment on battery choice for the 219B option E07? Is it still best to stay with a 10 A battery like the Samsung 50E as was recommended for the 219B version of the PL47 or do the extra emitters actually need a higher max Amp battery to get the best turbo output without overdriving the 219B’s?

Also, is the battery tube a bit longer to fit Samsung 50E and longer batteries? Question

I’ve ordered a Samsung 50E for my 219B E07, but see this thread for why I’m worried it will be a tight fit.

I can confirm the Samsung 50E cell fits fine in both my PL47’s. I just ordered my E07 so dont know about that one yet. I have a Efest 3700mah 35a waiting for the E07. The Efest seems the exact same size as the 50E.

I just received my E07 order. I quickly tested a XP-L HI 3A v2 with the Maukka calibrated TA lumen tube and got 6,800 turn on lumens. I’m guessing a v3 XP-L HI will make 7,500, which is really amazing for the small size. It is smaller than I imagined and I love the heat fins. The hotspot is very round and huge. This will definitely be my new pocketable EDC.

I’ll do more extensive later on all my units when I have time. In the meantime, has anyone found the ideal battery for the 219B version?

Probably a 30T.

30Ts can output massive amounts of power.

Fireflies just removed the option on their website to purchase 30T's with the E07.  I ordered mine with a 40T about a month ago.  Will be interesting how bright it will be with that battery when it finally arrives.

Never ordered a PL47, just the E07 and the tracking number doesn't show up anywhere so it may be a long wait.

With 30T, it makes 7,570 lumens! Freaking amazing! It is even brighter than the D4S XP-L HI 5D V2 (3,577 lumens), ROT66 XPL-HI 3A V3 (6,940 lumens), Noctigon M43 (4,310 for LH351D 90CRI, 5,172 for XPL-HI 5D v2, 6,000 XP-G2), and Astrolux MF01 (I think it was about 7k for the 219C).

Too bad FF ran out of the XPL-HI 3A V3 and I think 1A V3 is too CW for me.

I’m going to do more testing on each unit once I receive my E07 order from Neal. Strange that I received my order from FF so quickly even though I ordered it two weeks after I placed order from Neal. However FF made some mistakes in my order: one had wrong emitters and one had wrong aux color. Will sort it out with them.

@SKV89, that's a lot of lumens wow.  I ordered mine with the 40T and hoping to get close to that.  How does the beam look to you compared to the rot66?  From Matts video, the rot66 looks like it has much more flood.
