I'd love to know what make the fireflies 40T fakes are.  That would help me decide if I should  keep them or not.

It doesn’t PWM the aux LEDs. It could, but that would greatly increase the amount of power used. The MCU’s PWM functions use more power than the aux LEDs do, so it’s counterproductive to dim them via PWM. Instead, it dims them only by adding and removing a passive resistor, giving two different brightness levels. But that method doesn’t work on the aux LED boards Fireflies uses, so it is limited to only one brightness.

Yeah, those look like the same fakes I received. PayPal decided in my favor for a full refund, immediately after was contacted by FireFlies, we reached an agreeable to me compensation, now waiting to see if that’s fulfilled. I didn’t bother to test mine, curious what your results show.

I never opened a paypal dispute, actually never have with anyone as I don't know how to do it, but I did email fireflies about it and never got a reply except for this ....

I also got a fake Samsung with my E07. Fireflies offered me a $10 refund which i refused, I want a full refund for the battery but no more reply from Fireflies after that. I am considering opening a Paypal dispute if I dont get a reply soon.

Just got an order in today from Neal, and he threw in some nice treats:

More ff shots:

The E07 is gorgeous in clear. I ordered the plain X9 but he shipped me the titanium tube version (well, with the plain tube as backup) -- I guess I won't send it back smile. This is my first E07 I've seen, and I know there's been issues posted, but I'm even wow'ed by it. The tint and beam is outstanding! I'm not sure of the LED's it shipped with but appear to be 4000K or 5000K SST-20's.

The X9 is CW SST-40's but is a powerhouse (maybe ~5000 lumens) and outweighs the E07, both with cells installed.

I agree.

The clear E07 is one of the most beautiful lights ever. Love Love Love

You’re welcome. Smile

I was surprised when so many people chimed in on my suggestion to go clear ano, didn’t really plan to buy an E07 but when they actually DID the clear I kinda had to and am very pleased that I did. They did a really good job with it, very nice light. And Lexel’s Aux board is a work of art in and of itself! I only wish the optic didn’t have the frosted blank area so the fancy schmancy PCB would show through! Smile

Those that have the clear anno version… does the tailcap lock out reliably like the regular anno versions? I’ve had clear anno lights before that cant be reliably locked out because the anno in the threads is not very good…

Any word on these special editions I’ve been hearing about? I love my E07 enough that I want another, but will wait for a stainless or titanium option.

I really like the E07. It’s not my #1 favorite light, but it’s definitely in the top 5… and that’s not an easy list to get on.

Yep - locks out fine. It's truly anodized so should. I think if you guys saw/felt the clear ano, you'd be fine with it - titanium and SS have issues, heat for one... It's still a nice lightweight carry.

My pics were done quickly - they aren't doin it justice.

Agree with Dale - everything about this light is a work of art - the UI/firmware, the AUX LEDs, the design, finish, the tint/beam of the LEDs and optics......

I was going to post a question a few weeks ago if there is a clear optic available.  The Lexel board really needs to be on display.

I purchased my clear E07 direct from the Fireflies Website.

Hmmm I’ve got an idea for you TomE…

How about you sell all of your other E07s, and only keep the E07 clear?

Not only will you make some dough back to buy other torches, but you will get some much needed space for a real beauty, the FW3A Love

Ok, embarassedcry

Blue - The clear E07 is the only one I own. I got one ROT66 (pre AUX LED's), one PL47, and now one E07. Boy, you think I'm nuts and have 100's of lights? Ohhh, yea, guess I do... frownsmile I'll make the room for the FW3A(s), I'm one of the first ones on the list.

Oh niiice.

I’m probably going to do something quite special with the light.

Since LH351Ds 90CRI have about the same VF as SST-20s 95CRI, I’m going to be mixing some emitters in Smile

A few pics of my raw aluminum E07. The aux are purple but look blue in pics. Plastic cap over the tail cap so I can hold it in my mouth at work and not chip my teeth. Tint of these XPL HI 5000k are gorgeous. I’m surprised how low the moonlight is even with 7 leds on. I’m ready for my gray one to get here before I scuff this thing up anymore. I’ve already dropped it several times.

The E07 has the led it shipped with on the side of the box in that triangle.

My LED's are definitely SST-20's (pulled the optics to check) and best I can tell from the scribble on the box is they are 4000K. The beam pattern looks so smooth and silky.

The 5000K's have the lower CRI but a lot more output and throw. I got some on order to see how they do - appears you should get more throw than XPL HI's.

Lockout in this light has nothing to do with ano, the pcb in the tail cap has to touch the tube, it’s not about the threads at all. Wink

For those of you with the E07 and the D4S, is the D4S significantly more throwy? I dont find my E07 throwy.

The E07 is quite a bit throwier than the E07.

Dale - true, I see the PCB is isolated from the tailcap. The E07 sure does have a big hot spot. The Amutorch X9 is much tighter, but of course it's got 3 reflectors, bout the same width optics/glass.
