Thanks for the warm welcome. Well, I needed something kind of quickly, so I couldn't wait for dealextreme unfortunately. So I basically had to choose from what was available off Ebay US sellers. I wound up finally finding the wiki about Cree LED's, and narrowed down lights to basically the Ultrafire C3 Cree Q5 for 15 dollars with shipping, and the Trustfire A3 Cree R5 for 18 dollars with shipping. I went with the R5 for the extra oomph. It's definitely not a perfect light, nor necessarily ideal situation, but I needed the light quickly.

I did something similar a month ago when a small wad of cash hit my wallet unexpectedly and I decided to get some XML lights.
But I was set up for going to work (a sailor) the next week so I had to order from DX overseas warehouse to have a chance of receiving the lights before I left. Not only are their prices higher than the mother site but their stock is also very limited compared to the mother site. But it bit down and paid through gritted teeth. Got a ultrafire C1 that is my work light now and that I am pretty happy with for the performance, but you just have to look at it 2 minutes to know that it is overpriced compared to what I could have had if the timing had been better.
Again, welcome to a great little community that seem to hold room for almost any aspect and wallet of our interest and hobby. And have a nice holiday!
SoG, the R5-A3 is a great light! I'm sure you'll be very happy with it!
... but a little bit pricey :| Have seen it for less than 15 bucks. Anyway, it's a good light ;)
