Looking to buy a Haikelite, need version advice

Hey, long time lurker. First post to Budget Light Forum. I am just wondering if I could get some advice from the knowledgeable people here.

So I am looking to get a Haikelite MT03. But there are… 2 versions of the same light?

MT03 ii Devourer (https://www.banggood.com/HaikeLite-MT03-Devourer-XHP70-8760LM-CWNW-High-Power-LED-Flashlight-p-1104373.html?cur_warehouse=CN)

MT03 TA (HaikeLite MT03 TA Devourer XHP70.2 P2 21000LM CW/NW Hochleistungs-LED-Taschenlampe Sale - Banggood Deutschland-arrival notice-arrival notice)

I am assuming the MT03 TA is the most recent version, the naming just throws me off a bit with the “ii”. So I just wanted to clarify.

Just one more question, does anyone know the run times for the higher lumens?

I think it’s 2.5 minutes at 21000LM?

I found this on the MT03 ii Devourer.
High Mode: 330min 2700Lm
Mid Mode: 550min 1000Lm
Low Mode: 35h 150Lm
Max.: 58 days

What about the MT03 TA? Also the run times for 21000LM, and maybe 9000LM?

Thanks so much!

forget 2.5 minutes on 21000 Lumens not enough thermal mass

and for my liking the shallow LED shelf has been always the big weak point of this light,
even more with TA Overdriven LEDs
you know I had here lights with stripped threads on MCPCB mounting screw holes because the shelf is only 2mm thick

The TA driver has ramping so runtimes for modes is a pretty useless technical detail, sure you can configure the firmware to modes but who wants it?
I would always prefer Anduril with stepped ramping if you want a mode flashlight, sure it can be flashed

I’m pretty much just looking for a decent flood light around $120 CAD. Like if this or other lights that could sustain… Say 9000 lumens? More would be better obviously.

A friend of mine bought the Imalent dx80. It’s very impressive, but way too huge for what I would want in a light and even at it’s lower settings 5000, 9000, and 12000 lumens is very impressive. So I was just looking for something with a high turbo to find a more consistent mid range (5000-9000 lumens).

How does the MT03 compare with the MT09R 70.2 … I have the latter and it floods crazy (It’s modded I believe)
Tony

What are the “usable” lumens on those flashlights? How long can they sustain around 5000-9000 lumens?

Here is the Q30
You can change the driver in the Q30 and burn your hands later when you want more than ridiculous output.

Will 5000 lumens really make it that hot?

Hey at $61 what more is there, I mean you can go with the King of SUSTAINED pop lights the Thrunite TN36 for about $130.

Alright, I will check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Astrolux MF01 may be not that floody but its also very nice to light up a lot of area
too bad the original driver is not that good and modding is a challange as its heavily glued

Do the math. 5000 lumens will require about 50 watts almost all of which ends up as heat. Same problem with MT09 with the TA driver. According to TA that thing could deliver 240 watts. While the Q30 is reasonably heavy, if you apply 50 watts, it will indeed get very warm very quickly. These things are actually quite remarkable for the raw amount of power they can pull from a modest sized battery pack.

Thank you very much for the information. I guess I was just looking for a smaller version of the Imalent dx80 but still “high” sustained lumens, but I guess that doesn’t really exist hah.

that’s the key, sustained… The Q8 does a good job…The MT09 does pretty good even after it steps down…
Look at an Emisar D4… Ton of light from a tiny package, until physics takes over…

I think the Q8 sustains max output for a minute or two and steps down… You can double click it back on I think, then it depends on the temps sensor…

The MT03 , not sure. My MT09 20k output for 30-60 seconds , ambient dependent… After
that it steps down and holds pretty well due it’s mass…

I think the MT09 still puts out a lot more light after step down that the Q8…

Anyone have any input on this?

The MF01 is a good flooder but it can sustain 9000lm for only about 2 min. Got mine for ~ 100$ CAD with a coupon and it is a very good light for the price. I also own a DX80 but I find the MF01 more practical due to its size.

You might also take a look at the BLF Q8. It was on flash sale tonight on Amazon.ca for 62$ CAD, prime eligible. Great deal for a great light.
