Newb ..Thrunite TN 42 OMG

Hey Gang, This is my first post.
I have a Nitecore P10gt.Nitecore MH12GT…Klaris XT11X ,
And the monster Thrower ,Thrunite TN42
Learning a lot about flashlights that I never knew there was so much to learn about. I certainly do appreciate all the knowledge on the Forum . I just got the thrunite tn42 last week and OMG, just an incredible amount of light being thrown such a long distance.
I also love the nitecore mh12gt it puts a stunning amount of light.
I’m new at high end flashlights and I’m amazed at the technology and the amount of light they can put out of small flashlights… I look forward to learning a lot more about the high-end world of flashlights…DOC

Hi and welcome DOC. Nice collection. Good luck with the bank balance hanging around here.

Welcome to BLF, wait until you meet the BLF GT or the Astrolux MF04… :smiling_imp:

May not be a thrower, but the MT09R sure gave me that “Holy Crap!!” feeling.

Welcome! Try to limit yourself to 2 torches/month and you might still have enough money to buy presents for next Christmas. Luckily, I got a good price for a dozen Tool AAA for the nieces and nephews….

Have a pleasant time at this friendly forum, DOC1500!

This one. Feed this thing Samsung 30Qs or the like and OMG for sure. I don’t have anything like it. Some pure flood lights put so much output right in front of you that your pupils will contract and you lose perception of brightness. But the MT09R unbelievable lumen output with good reach. Of all the big lights I have this one is the one that I would show people to show them how far led light technology has come, just can’t say enough at how impressive it is. The other big hitter I’ve been using is the GT70 that I put in a 3000k emitter. Comparing a regular GT with the TN42 you can certainly tell the GT has more throw, but it’s a a much much bigger light and way heavier too when fully loaded.

I wonder if there is a “Stages of Flashaholism” infographic anywhere. Something like…

1. I sometimes carry a little LED flashlight when I’ve got the pocket space to spare, and when I use it among my friends, it’s a real conversation starter/head turner
2. Wow, new LED flashlights have come a long way in brightness and being budget friendly since I last shopped for one
3. Wow, this flashlight is only $13.99 and it’s twice as bright as the one I got 5 years ago that I paid $37 for
4. Hmm, what are all these cool lithium ion batteries and how do I charge them?
5. Wow, this other flashlight is capable of twice as many lumens and only costs $25. It’s a little bigger than my other two, but that means it won’t overlap in use, right? I’ll carry the one in my pants pocket and relegate the other one for camping. Guess that means I can buy them both, since I’ve been needing to upgrade my flashlight for camping.
6. This flashlight costs more, uses a different battery than what I currently own, but it looks a lot more handy. Might be worth the price.
7. Turns out I need four of the expensive flashlights, one thrower and one flood in each tint color—just in case
8. They make flashlights capable of HOW MANY lumens? In THAT SMALL of a package? That sell for ONLY HOW MUCH???
9. Wow, you can buy directly from China and these flashlights only cost how much???
10. I now have a flashlight drawer to store all my flashlights, batteries and chargers
11. Might be time to sell or give away a few flashlights in the old flashlight drawer to make space for the 10 I have coming in the mail.
12. Week 2: Learning how to custom mod my own flashlights and ordering ample supplies of parts…
