Give us a link please.

Oh yeah it's gun-metal gray. Not the most attractive flashlight, but it has that polished SS bezel for those who are into such thing. And yeah it is gun-metal, any and I do mean any gun-metal light is good right?

LOL I've became a big fan of the gray lights. Not sure how that happened.

This light is just all over the map though. WAY too many styling features.

"Lets put a fin here"

"No, lets put a dimple there."

"How about a squared-off body tube?"

"Don't forget that we need ribbing around the bezel."

"Whatever you do...don't forget the grip ring!"

"I'm not sure that matches the stainless crenelated bezel ring..."

"Yeah? So?"

"Yeah... lets just throw it all on there."

The previous conversation is entirely fictional and no names have been used to protect the innocent.

Actually it's not that bad. There are much worse looking lights and looks should be criteria #999 when considering a light IMO.

Well it has Jetbeam tailcap, On the road X5 fins, L2T/Surefire/T40CS standard rubber cigar, Jetbeam RRT-1 head, Ultrafire UF-980L SS bezel. Body is pretty standard and can be seen on many lights, so can't comment on that. How bad can that be?

Most important is that it is GUN-METAL. All gun-metal lights are good even if PWM is 30Hz.

Joking.... Sealed

2100, you and me are definitely on the same page with the interest in gun metal lights. Seriously, that's what drew me into the X9 and I was even more impressed when I finally saw it in person. I've always been a gun metal fan, regardless of the product

You just knew I would want one now didn't ya.

Tacticool ! I like. Very JetBeam looking.

Do you think it's worth that? You can get the Ultrafire UF-980L for that price but it's not Gun metal gray. I like it also...

Well the UF-980L does not have AR glass that cuts ~1% and has pretty low PWM (about 150Hz) etc.... That's what i measured but the glass is from my 7G5. None of my few Ultrafires (including 980L) has AR glass and they do about 6% cut.

2100,

How do you know if your light has AR glass, and is that the best glass? Can you order the lens from somewhere, can you really tell a difference with having and not having? Here is a nice looking Crelant

http://www.intl-outdoor.com/crelant-7g6-xml-t6-600-lm3-mode-flashlight-p-242.html

The higher the lumens the higher the difference since the glass cuts in percentages. An 80lumens flashlight might not gain much by that.

There are lenses that cut even 15% of the light but generally they cut 7%. But still if you get an 80 lumens flashlight with a lens that cuts 15%, it's not that good either. The most ignored part of a flashlight is the glass. With time when the lumen will be higher and higher probably the glass will be considered important.

You can check my write-up of the Crelant 7G5. That one cut 0.08%. I have never encountered a Trustfire/Ultrafire which has AR and does 1%.

Some Shadow, N-Lights, some of the higher-end Solarforces have AR...that's about it. There is also this thing called quality of AR coating, but i am not that particular. Smile

It's not really that expensive, but some flashlights have len diameter which do not have a size in the UCL lineup. I have no experience with KD lenses (soldout also anyway). At least for me, i don't want to spend for UCL that's $6.25 + 2.25 shipping (international) for even a $45 flashlight. Smile

PS. This V9 might have a lousy lens, but more likely it isn't.

I damn near bought that one but decided to get the Shadow T6.

ILIKEFLASHLIGHTS, you are a sick puppy. I thought I was bad.

You seem to like lots of the same lights that I like.

One light I would bet you would love is the Shiningbeam Blaze. Give it a try and see what I mean.

I know this thread is a little old but I ordered this light today. Maybe I'm doing this backwards. (search then order)

Review coming . . .

I just bought two. Such a pretty host!
