ROFIS R3 question for tech experts

If you have not read,I started this ROFIS R3 and Angle lights...need assit

Anyway

Questions:
1 - Is it safe to leave USB /magnet charger pluged in ? Will it burn out/catch fire or any bad effects?
2 - Does this light use a special battery like my new TH30 ?
3- Will the USB charger damage the battery from bad charging?
4- Know of any other clip that happens to fit this?

1. Yes. Any properly designed Li-ion charger will terminate charging when the battery is full, as to do otherwise is quite dangerous.
2. The TH30 uses a standard 18650 battery. So does the R3, though the R3’s maximum current requirement is much lower.
3. No.

Thanks Zak
I missed one thing about Q1
Can I leave the USB charger plugged in with no light connected long term?

1., 3. I wouldn’t. Might be “safe”, but a lot of chargers will wait for the voltage to drop as the cell “rests”, then try topping it off again. Kinda like filling a balloon to the popping point, and after some air leaks out, again filling it to the popping point.

NEVER leave any type of charging device( USB, Type C, etc… ) over limit charge cycles. Fire risks, damage to your light, explosions. Especially with Lion Cells

I think the Rofis R3 “moon”mode is way more then .25 of a lumen.
W/e it is, I like it .
Wonder if any have tested the lumens on various modes with a makeshift lumen counter

In my experience (I think you know this already) 1. isn’t dangerous, but you could burn out the fuse in the cable. I deliberately shorted the cable and the current was only ~100 mA. I’m not sure if this kills the fuse instantly, or only if you leave it for a few seconds, because I didn’t realize the damage until much later.

So, it’s not very good to leave it plugged in, especially since it’s magnetic. The new version might be better. I wonder about the Olight magnetic charging…
