Policy OR Deception?

First I would like to say I am VERY satisfied with these batteries. Just wondering why the date they put on the wrappers is about 9 months older than the ACTUAL Manufacturing date? Is it SOSHINES Policy or is it Deception?? I am not exactly sure.

These are part of 4 X Soshine 18650 3400mAh cells.[NCR]

Manufacture date is: 2.25.2013 or 3225

SOSHINE Date on wrapper is : 11.15.2013

I received them on 8.27.2014,1.5 years old at that point.

They have 300 cycles on them. they will be 6 years old next Monday. I used them for ~ 3 Years. Stored for ~ 1.5 years and just started using them again in my BST[Kitchen light!]

I re wrapped Two of them and found the info below on the Can,along with one that has Original wrapper.

What do you think?

Do you think they wait until they receive the batteries from the manufacturer and then place their OWN date on them after they re wrap them?

You would think they know the actual date of manufacture because they have to re wrap them. There was NO wrap underneath SOSHINES wrap, just the bare can.

I have that TYPE A personality where I always want to know the answer!

If I had to guess, they were FULLY aware of the manufactured date and CHOSE to put their own date on the label to make them look newer,OR maybe that is there policy just to stick a date on the wrapper when they decide to sell the batteries which in actuality IS Deceptive! :smiling_imp:

They just put a near date in the past… Maybe they print a few thousand wrappers with a random date and use them until they are over

Possibly,9 months difference is NOT to near!

25th of February 2013 compared to their wrapper date of 15th of November 2013!!…almost 9 months!

1: Manufacturer stamps a date.
2. Batt sits in warehouse.
3. Soshine receives battery.
4. Batt sits in warehouse.
5. It’s wrapped with soshine label.
6. Batt sits in warehouse.
7. Batt goes to reseller.
8. Batt sits in warehouse.
9. You order batt.

Seems pretty simple to me.

Really? I think your delusional! lol!

I understand what your saying,BUT My whole point is the date Soshine stamps on the battery is DECEPTIVE. That is NOT how old the battery is. My hometown dealer[Liionwholesale] receives batteries that are 3, 4 or 5 months old with no stamp of deception on the wrapper,ONLY the manufacturers date on the “can”.Sure they can sit for awhile sometimes, but I KNOW how old the batteries REALLY are and then have the choice if I want them.
