Battery Prices

For those of us that buy the Dollar Tree batteries I just saw that

the Sunbeam branded AA ones are now coming in three to a pack

instead of the four to a pack I usually pick up.  May be the same way

for the AAAs as well. Still saw the four packs on the shelf, while they

last ?  Just to let everybody know.

I am the bump in the night

Nah, don’t but any.

Not really worth it, since you can buy rechargeable LSD AAs quite inexpensively these days.

IMO, if you really want alkaline cells, just buy them in bulk from a place like Amazon. Cheaper per cell prices.

Avoid Duraleak and Enerleakers, though. Also supermarket brands and other “off” brands.

I’ve had the best luck with Rayovac and even Rat Shack alkleaks which kept their “intactness” even when forgotten about for almost a decade. As for Rat Shack, the older black ones rarely if ever leaked, but the newer white/orange ones had a (very) few which did, but only after being run down to nothing.

Ds and Es would’ve been encased in a salt-block by then, even just sitting around doing nothing.

Been meaning to get some E loops on order but like a lot of things just not got around to it.

I am surprised that the dead Sunbeams I have in my recycle box  have not puked themselves

  yet.

I gift a lot of AAA single mode lights. I don’t give Eneloops with them, do you? There are places for alkaline batteries. I have not had one leak for years.
I especially like the Sunbeam batteries, however, if they change to 3/pkg that is a deal breaker. I am currently using AC Delco.

Give eneloops and you gotta give a charger, too. And most muggles will just toss in an alkaleak anyway rather than bother.

I’ve generally avoided “off” brands, as they tend to take a dump even worse than Enerleakers or Duraleaks.

the CHEAPEST AAs are at family dollar – yellow and black labels, i forget the name

alkaline

cheaper than 4/1$ at dollar tree anyway
they are not bad

seems like maybe 24 for $5 which would be .21 ea
