So I am now living in a situation where I can take rails-to-trails bicycle trails almost everywhere! Have an electric bicycle, and can go dozens of miles in a day, and see the whole city! Its really great, however trail quality is poor and the “Lance Armstrongs” are numerous, and jerks.
So recently, I attended happy hour with some colleagues and decided I’d use a RamMount to attach my Convoy L6 to the handlebars for the ride home, as this bicycle doesn’t have a light on it. I-can’t-remember-which-driver which runs at or near direct drive, no thermal stepdown, XHP70.2… Wow was that great! 7,000+ lumens for the whole ride home! It was 11pm, and the trail was empty, and all was fine.
Well we had another happy hour, but this time I left at about 8p, and when I hit the trail, it was loaded with people. Other bikers, mom/dad/child combos, runners, etc. The Convoy L6 was nothing short of terrorism. People were having to stop and shield their eyes, I almost caused two joggers to run into each other a full 100 meters away! Even if you turn this thing waaaay down, that beam is just atrocious; there is no setting low enough that I can still see but others are not blinded.
So has anyone attempted to I don’t know, slide a cut mirror down into the reflector? I have tried to simply cover the top half of the glass, but that does nothing; that reflector would need to change. I don’t mind having two reflectors, one for biking and a regular.
Just curious has anyone attempted to bicycle with a fully loaded Convoy L6 and needed to modify.
