Torx screw for knives

One of the screws of my beloved edc Sanremu 7010 as gone missing.

Looking at an identical knife the missing screw is a M2.5 countersunk with Torx T6 print and the problem is all i can find for M2.5 is with T8 print and a somewhat larger head wich seems to be standart.

For now i have taken one on one of my (too many) spare knives and if can't find anything else i'll try to modify a T8 but i am wondering :

- Is it usual for pocket knives to use special size screws ?

- Where does one find them ?

Something like this?

Use loctite when you reinstall them.

The ones from your link are the standart size ones with T8 head (and that ennoying protruding pin that prevents people from using the "normal" torx screwdriver but that's an other story)

For the threadlocker : Already done ;)

I’m trying to take those annoying clips off my knives.
I have 2 x Torx sets with multi types in there.
The “T” Series in both… go from T27 to T”7”…
ALl my knives so far have T6 screws in there.

Grrrr. Nobody in Queensland I can find has them?
4 in grinder the next step if this keeps up.

Why don’t they leave them loose in box.
Nobody I know uses the bloody things.
They just an annoyance in both hand and pocket.

I agree the small size Torx screw drivers are not the easiest to find in hardware shops but if you can buy them online then there's plenty of choice

I have a (not cheap) set from T4 to T9 that i bought from Radiospares (ref 411-4535) because i needed them fast but Aliexpress has a lot of them for cheap if you are not in a hury

@zaxar : Thank you but the ones in your link are not countersunk head (V shape with the larger part of the V on top of the head)

Standart M2.5 screw with countersunk torx head (T8 print size) are easy to find online but the head is somewhat too big for sitting in the frame hole of the knife.

Here is the screw i have on the knife : M2.5 with a smaller (diameter and high) head (hence the T6 print)

Still searching ;)

Sorry friend!!! Translation difficulties! If I find, accomplish your goal!

No worries and thank you for trying to help :)

Even after using all types of screw for many years i had to look for a translation because i had no idea how they where named in english ;)

I bought a set of 8 “Allen Keys” with torx ends at BOTH ends.
Tapered down to Torx. (long and short legs).
Should fit into any? screw head. Internal pins or not.
Cost $5+$2.50 post each.

By the way, a good source for small screws with small heads are RC shops.
Those drones and copters often use the same screws that don’t come with them freaking T8 heads (I went though that, too)

Maybe these? https://hobbyking.com/en_us/metal-flat-head-machine-hex-screw-m2-5x5-10-pcs-set.html

@Adahn : Very good idea ! iirc i have an RC shop not too far from here.

@Eleziel : The link seems to be dead here (error 404) but i got the idea !

TY all :)
