The description says "zooming", but I think they are referring to the infinitely variable brightness control rotator. First one I've seen like this in the "moderately" priced segment.
Cool find and want more info. Bet MR.2100 knows something.
I think you're on target with the rotary brightness being mistakenly described as 'zooming.'
It's a nice-looking torch, to be sure.
