I know I probably sound like a child. But I recently had my first bad experience on AliExpress. I bought a cellphone battery, it was for sure an original, but the capacity wasn’t what I expected. He was a huge jerk about it. Told me I tested it wrong, told me I had to charge and discharge it a bunch of times( I did, 5 times). Then he got condescending and rude and started name calling.
I already rated it decently because all seemed well when it arrived. I didn’t know until after testing it was 2800 out of a minimum 3300. Which is a large difference for a phone battery.
Now I’m mad and annoyed and not sure what to do. I left a second returning review for the product but it doesn’t allow me to change the review score.
Did you pay with PayPal? Credit/Debit card? Disputes and charge backs are usually the only thing you can do post sale. I assume that if you were to start a dispute with Ali, they would want you to ship it back. Cost more than the battery most likely. Use the help of whatever method you chose. You won’t keep everyone from buying them but they won’t get your money for a less than stellar product.
I think you should contact AliExpress customer service. I have very good experience with them.
Another choice might be a dispute where AE acts as an arbitrary party. I know sellers are punished somehow for having disputes openеd because a few times I was offered a solution to my favor for immediate dispute closing.
You should not press “recieve” button until you checked goods. Because once you pressed it you are not able to open case anymore.
I have ordered batteries several times, once had luck with unoversal li-po cell (capacity was actually 5% over rated), all other batteries were ~50% underrated. Once I ordered extended milwaukee m12 battery (that should have 6 cells inside), it had 3 cells with connection and 3 fake sand-filled cases. Each time I had problems, I opened case and asked to refund as much % as I havent got. Each time I got what I asked.
Upd.
Sorry, have not used ali for a while. Have just checked new rules, you still have 15 days after “recieve” button to open dispute. Also, if tracking works well, system will recognize when you got goods automatically.
I always click this button some time after receiving goods, to have more time to check, and if it breaks after e.g 10 days, I will still have more time to contact the seller first, and open dispute after, if we cannot agree. I always provide a bunch of photos and video when needed to be extra sure everything is clear.
But I don’t “punish” unfair sellers by asking in dispute to full refund if it don’t really need full refund.
No need to use Paypal. Just initiate a disipute in Aliexpress if the seller is not willing to cooperate. From my experience, sellers are very afraid of customers informing Aliexpress. If Aliexpress investigates and finds the seller at fault, they will keep record of it and after a few times, the seller will be banned from Ali. I’ve made dozens if not over a hundred purchases on Aliexpress so I’m pretty familiar with how it works by now.
Not sure if there’s anything the sellers can do when it gets stuck at customs. Also the transit status is probably super vague.
The first Fireflies ROT66 I ordered on day one of release took several months to arrive. It got stuck at HK customs. Not sure if they can see that it is stuck at customs. FF didn’t know what was going on too initially but after almost two months, FF had to investigate and from my experience dealing with similar issues in the US, I can imagine how difficult and waste of time these phone calls would be. There was nothing Fireflies can do about it and he said he will send me another one if it doesn’t come in another month, but eventually it came. The second ROT66 I ordered a month or two after my first order came before the first one.
Oh being returned to the seller is different from being stuck at customs. The seller MUST know when he sees the package. lol Guess they don’t want to bother explaining the situation to you.
Well, nah. I clearly screenshotted and repeatedly tell them that the package was denied by the custom and being returned. It’s not about not bothering to explain, but it’s about man up and do something about it rather than lying to me “still in transit”.
They didn’t need to explain to me what happened for it was me who knew the situation before they did.
It may have looked like an authentic original battery, but 99% likely a counterfeit. I’d go that route with an Aliexpress claim. Similar to all the fake Samsung 30Q sold by the numerous fake Liitokala stores on Aliexpress.
Disputes are a lot of work. Sometimes you need to shoot the same type video twice just because they get confused. But if you do all the work, you will win. I have never lost a dispute.
Never giving up us seems to be the best evidence to convince them you got screwed
