Do you get excited when you hear about a new flashlight that you want?

I do.

I am very picky about what flashlights to get, so I don't buy them as often as some on BLF.

When I hear about something new that appeals to me, I get very excited, and cannot wait until I can order it, and cannot wait until it finally arrives.

I get especially excited when I hear about a possible new EDC flashlight.

I guess that make me a flashaholic!

Same. I was so excited for the K1 but then I realised there’s no SBT90.2 so I ordered the FT03 instead. I’m hyped for it but not as much as usual. Maybe cause I fear it might not have enough throw

Not as much as I used to. My current lights are holding there own.

Same as chadvone. I think I get excited about a light then quickly realize I have more than a few that do just about the same thing. Lights sit in my cart for months before I take them out and replace them with new ones that I will never buy.

I’ve seen some that I really really like the look of, but, the function is almost identical to other lights that I have. I have grown tired of multi emitter, ramping hot rods.

Yes, very much. This has been going on for a few years. I got super excited for weeks when the Niwalker MM15 prototype came out. Same thing when the Noctigon meteor M43 was coming out. Same thing again when the Thrunite TN36 came out. Same thing when the Acebeam K70 came out. Same thing when the X65 came out. I like to talk about the usual types of various things that normal people talk about, when I’m immersed in the crowd of people that come to the community meeting hall that I manage. But when a new flashlight is coming out people just roll their eyes and say “It looks like he’s super excited about a new flashlight coming out again.” Same thing when the K75 came out, and the same thing when the Imalent R90TS came out. The crowd of people know that when a new flashlight is coming out that I’m excited about, that I won’t be talking about trigonometry, calculus, thermodynamics, physics, chemistry, neuroscience, biology, history, philosophy, that I love to talk about, or much of anything else, when a new, exciting flashlight is coming out. Then they know that when the nighttime meetings are over, there’s going to be a lot of show and tell. Same thing when the MS 18 came out, and now people know that I’m really excited about the Nitecore TM9K, and the Nightwatch 3 x XHP 50.2 single 21700. When there is no new flashlight coming out, I revert to my default mode, talking about arts, sciences and humanities. Sooner or later, usually sooner, I am suddenly visibly excited about the next new flashlight. The next new flashlight visibly changes my mood, changes the way I feel, and changes my outlook on humanity and life.

Well, sure, that’s the definition of ‘want it’.

Not so much excited as disappointed when some company produces a light incorporating features I thought of long ago but lacked connections and resources to produce.

I’d get more excited about some older lights being manufactured again. The Olight S20 and the Olight M18 Maverick were terrific lights. Most notably the Maverick was the best work light I’ve ever used for my line of work and I was really disappointed when it was discontinued. Mostly disappointed in myself. It was on sale at a close-out price for weeks….maybe months at Illumn.com and probably elsewhere and I didn’t pull the trigger on a few more for some reason. Guess I thought there was something better coming around the corner. That ain’t always so.

Yes.

But unfortunately, nothing has gotten me too excited since the X65.

Yes!
