Lens: Optical-grade glass lens with anti-reflective coating on both sides
Reflector: Light orange-peel textured
Water resistance: IPX-8
Battery: One AAA, included (see voltage range to select acceptable batteries for this light)
Two Output Modes:
Low: .24 OTF Lumens, 120 hours
High: 25 OTF Lumens, 1.5 hours
Dimensions:
Length: 2.2 inches (5.59 cm)
Diameter: 0.5 inches (1.27 cm)
Weight: 0.46 ounces (13g)
So, smaller than the DQG II by 1.5mm, same diameter, same weight, nice low low, but why is the high so low and no proper medium mode? And why XP-E again in a flooder?
It should have had the standard Preon UI, with low-med-high and hidden discos (with a slow 2Hz or "police-style" strobe).
Interesting they described it as OP reflector, it clearly has a TIR lense with GITD dust at the base in swissbianco's facebook pictures from shot show: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=365332016815329&set=pu.114038305278036&type=1&theater
Cons: Butt-ugly, no knurling (poor grip), low runtime on high (1.5h and only 25lm?), DQG II design ripoff,
Pros: magnet, size
By the way... it doesn't look like TIR lens, because if it was TIR, you'd see reflection of the emitter instead of GITD stuff. Just take a look at your DQG ( I or II) ...For me it look like just bare emitter behind a glass lens (or some semi-reflector like in Fenix E01). The smaller size than DQG also indicates lack of any type of advanced optics.
You could well be right, like the E01 type semi-reflector, but with some sort of GITD material and a glass lense in front. That could explain the lower lumen output as some of the wide angle light is absorbed in the only semi-reflective surface.
I actually think it's very good looking though, and it looks like a quite grippy texture to the body/head. I'll wait for the first reviews I think..
I pre ordered one of the p0-ss right away. 24$ nothing to matter.
glad to give a review when it finally arrives..

actually this release is great promotion and publicity for the DQG!! Everybody gets to know of the existence of the DQG, and that the Titanium edition is to follow later this year. (no hurries, Ric! :) )
Mhm, I was waiting for this light, but I'm not convinced yet. The High-Mode isn't high enough for me and I don't like the appearance...$ 25 is not so expensive as I had feared, but to pricey to check it in person. I'll wait for reviews ;)
I was expecting higher high and low levels of output. Since I don't have a real use for the firefly mode, this is essentially a 25 Lumen single mode light to me. The EOSLAMP SP11 AAA is the best contender to the DQG for me... user defined output is the way to go these days. No knurling on a twisty is not a good idea.
Now I'm thinking, maybe 25 lumens isn't this low? I mean, 25->100 lumens is only twice as bright... and my iTP A3 on medium is usually enough for my needs, and it would be nice to get rid of the annoying buzz in low and med modes.
I'll have to wait for the reviews by the bold people who have preordered this light. :)
Guys, i don't know any AAA light with 80+ lumen, the highest i know is LD01. A3 gets max 70 lumen... I am pretty sure this little thing from 4sevens will do in an eneloop 2,5hours regulated.
