Would this make for cheap parts for an interesting build?

I recently got this for my office plants and am quite impressed. If I were a modder I would build something with this, some kind of old desk / table lamp and a homemade power pack. Assume this thing must be driven by some source of low voltage DC and if one could drill out the center of the base and run wires that would bypass the discarded high voltage AC and go directly to the DC power pack.

The thing is pretty impressive IMO. Has 18 Osram LED’s that must be driven fairly mild as it is claimed at only 25 Watts. Would love to see the 45W version. Has a built in fan that is nearly silent. Runs non stop with zero heat issues while putting out a lot of light.

Would seem to me that this would be pretty cheap parts for building something quite novel if nothing else. Alas I am not a modder and would not know exactly what was inside it or what really could be done. The bulb is put together with screws so it would be easy to find out but unfortunately I wouldn’t know what I was even looking for.

Just a thought to put out there. Anyone ever try using something like this for a mod project? Is it just too difficult to get to the low voltage DC stuff from an AC unit like this?
