AAA sized flashlight / LiIon battery with better performance

I love the form factor of my Prometheus Beta AAA flashlight but way too weak for me. My Darksucks Mini II CR123 has about 9x the output while the total area of the batter is not much more.

Are there any Li based battery close to AAA form factor? Any flashlights (even with enclosed battery) that are about that size?

Really looking for a diameter of .6 or less

Reylight pineapple mini brass, Ultratac K18, Rovyvon Aurora A3x or A5x. There are actually a lot of flashlights in the 10440 category

Really looking for most lumens out of a 10440 light?

Vihn mods Prometheus lights turning them to really nice hot rods.

Also if you are looking for the brightest light on an AAA then look at the Surefire Titan Plus.

olight i3t is pretty good with that battery easy over 300 lumens.

My most powerful aaa light on a 10440 is the olight cu brass xpl version which puts out 700 lumen on start up.

Not even close, the already mentioned Prometheus BetaVn with XHP50.2 does 1400 lumen on star up.

Thanks for the suggestion. That’s exactly what I was looking for. I don’t need a long runtime. I already have two Betas that I’m wondering if he’ll mod (sent email to him).

would you be OK with 4x the lumens and 1/4 the runtime?

When I want more than 100 lumens, I do not use AAA lights, I use 16340 lights.

Bear in mind that using 10440 in an AAA light increases output by about 4x,
increases how hot the light gets,
and reduces runtime to about 1/4.

I think your mini is rated for 350 lumens for 60 minutes
while your Beta is rated for 60 lumes for 60 minutes

Actually Yes. I don’t really need 4x the lumens, but I’m looking for something in the 300-600 lumens. Runtime isn’t that big of a deal since i only use it in short bursts.

I’m not looking for anything crazy like 1,700 that only lasts 60 seconds or anything, but I am willing to sacrafici runtime for a light bit more lumens (and I totally understand the relationship). Hopefully 300-600 lumens won’t get too hot.

I have found a few lights that run in the 200-400 lumens area which does work for me, but i really don’t like the forum factors.

to clarify, looking for 200-400 lumens really… So 1.6x - 3.3x brighter than average, 500-600 would be overkill

I second the Reylight pineapple mini brass and Ultratac K18 then. Both around the top of that range.

Thanks! I gave my girlfriend a Red Copper ReyLight Pineapple Mini Nichia. I may have to steal it back and throw in a (probably protected) 10440.

Do you think it’s safe for unprotected?

That’s all I ever run in my 10440 lights. Hard to beat the Efest 10440 3A cells. They will certainly drive your lights harder and brighter than just about any other 10440 cell I’m aware of. I just make sure to never leave them on max brightness for long, keep unscrewed just a bit for no pocket accidents, and recharge often as soon as I see brightness dimming. Never had an issue yet. If you want to go protected anyway for safety, maybe search around a bit. Although I’m not aware of any 3A protected 10440 cells, so they may not perform as well. Also, protected cells are usually longer, so not certain they will even fit. Maybe someone else that’s used protected cells in these lights can chime in.

Where do you buy your Efest 10440 3A cells?

Here lately I’ve been picking up the Efest 10440 cells from illumn. They also list the flat tops I’ve been waiting on, but they’re currently backordered.
