Astrolux FT03 problem

Hello guys, i bought the Astrolux FT03 XHP50.2 and i have a problem . I use an xtar 5200mAh 26650 cell and when i double click for turbo, the flashlight shuts off and i cant turn it on unless i untighten the top and tighten it back. If i use an LG HG2 18650 3000mAh it doesnt do that, turbo works just fine. What is the problem? Thank you.

The Xtar 5200 probably has a protection circuit which due to the high current draw on the XHP 50.2 version of the FT03 will cause it to trip out.

The LG battery I imagine does not have a protection circuit so won’t trip out, also the LG will handle the current draw and is the better battery compared to the Xtar.

yes i see now that the xtar is protected but the lg is unprotected. Can you point me to the best cell for this flashlight? Because i use the lg in another one :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks

Something like this would probably be fine: https://eu.nkon.nl/rechargeable/li-ion/26650/ijoy-26650-4200mah-40a.html

will this one throw more light than my lg 18650? Will i notice a difference u think?

If you use Lygte-info.dk and compare the two cells, the ijoy holds a higher voltage under load which will mean it stays brighter for longer when in turbo mode. But, because of the thermal step is quite quick, after say 60 seconds it will reduce brightness. I think I’m reality you will not see it as brighter than the LG HG2, but it has more capacity.

alright dude thanks for the info!
